Cao Guang had run out of Soul Essences halfway for the project, it needed 91 Minion level ones, but he clenched his teeth and used the Soul Remnant of the Commander for it.
A/n : 91 because Brilliant Light was already at the fourth tier, so 42+49.
Little Tora pendant helped him turn in to appropriate Soul Essences. Now all of his Nebulae were at the Fourth tier minimum again.
Little Flame Belle looked at him with pleas, she could feel the horrible powers hidden within this mausoleum with her bloodline, she had even recognised these statues of White Sand Demons.
Cao Guang got up and looked at the broken statues and wondered why and how they were able to move and behave like living things. They didn't possess such technology, there was another way to do it but not with normal stones.
Cao Guang touched the rocks and found them to be ordinary Lime Stone ores and found nothing special after reducing one of the statues to just powder.
He was right the Ancient King hadn't relied on the quality of stones, but it made sense those stones required a modern magic metallurgical methods.
He looked down and spotted nodes of magic formations, he quickly brought out a notebook from his storage space and recorded every node and point he could about the formation.
He had yet to create entirely on his own, but he had learned and worked with plenty of formations. He brought some parts of the statue as well, in case he missed something.
Cao Guang then made his way up the stairs and watched the Wicked Copper Mirror, it was Marvel of ancient magic as well. Using Chaos and Light elements to form a surveillance mechanism.
He used a piece of a mirror to draw the attention of the Wicked Eye Copper Mirror and the heavy rock door seperated down the middle and parted to the side at snail's pace.
It clearly had been moved since it was closed years ago.
Next Cao Guang found the rumoured Endless Corridor, it was a usual technique of Space and Chaos.
Surprisingly the answer to this corridor lay in one of the Ancient King's lesser known elements, Psychic. The Emperor was a Forbidden Curse mage in Psychic as well. But that was expected, according to popular consensus, Psychic, Summoning, Chaos , Undead elements had a much more glorious past.
They had reached their peak in the hands of ancient rather than modern humans. Nazca had the trick of seemingly fusing Chaos and Space elements to spawn an infinite amount of monsters to fight for them. The existence of resources like Li Fan flower meant ancient psychic magic was potent as well.
Cao Guang personally would welcome the resurgence of these three elements and as for Undead, he would allow using it as much as people don't actively turned themselves into one in search of eternal life like Ancient King or whatever reason he did it for.
It wasn't because it was inefficient but because the Undead and living don't mix.
The Endless Corridor could even waylay Super mages and trap them here for as long as they were alive. The trick was to decode one of the illusions by yourself. He would need the help of Little Flame Belle to wake him up and keep himself grounded and Little Tora pendant to continue to disguise as a descendant.
Cao Guang searched the walls of the mausoleum yet again for clues and found none. He wasn't disheartened and found the painting he needed and spend some time understanding it.
Sometimes his expression would turn happy then suddenly he would start weeping for a while and the emotional rollercoaster continued until he finished the illusion.
Cao Guang saw the way out opening for him and finally figured out the point of this place.
The Ancient King didn't want to keep people out, he wanted them to come in.
Not all of them, preferably his own descendants, they had to strong enough to destroy the Eternal Wicked Lotus and Lucky enough to get past the Bridges of Life and Death.
However only the villagers would know of the secret of Wicked Eye Copper Mirror and the Endless Corridor. Of course some else might figure it as well.
The point of this was to find a successor, so that he could have a body again if his transformation failed halfway or his own body disintegrated during the transformation. It also put something else into perspective for Cao Guang.
