So I came back to my original theory, as for why you stayed longer in the coma than you should have it's probably because you had an increased susceptibility to that poison. But it probably won't happen again.

Cao Guang had come across a change in him after listening to Han Ji's words. When he awakened the second talent he could still feel existence of the original Cao Guang, but now he could no longer feel it.
Meaning the original Cao Guang was gone for good possibly. This event had overlapped with him getting injured and together put him into an extended coma.
Cao Guang checked the time and called his friends first and thanked them for bringing him to Ancient Capital. In the past six months a lot more had changed Song Xia, Gao Xuan and Luo Heng had reached the third tier in their secondary elements as well leaving Cao Guang well behind.
Song Xia had also managed to mine six Galaxy Veins from the mine before leaving the underwater mines. Enough to give each of them a hundred million or a chance at the Advanced level. She had distributed the veins with others in Cao Guang's absence and still held his one.
Six hundred million was a great loot for just group a intermediate level mages.
The military had apparently decimated the entire horde without any support from Commander and Rulers. They had taken possession of the mine and finished the process and retrieved forty two Galaxy Veins more. The contribution was enough for Cao Guang to be promoted again.
Cao Guang called Zhan Kong and Fei Jiao next as they were eager to speak to him after hearing from Han Ji. Cao Guang still couldn't talk to Pang Lai as he wa still in the remote Ice Realms.
Finally Cao Guang called Dean Xiao and the Super Mage Da Ren to thank them. Apparently when Cao Guang went into a coma. Dean Xiao allocated his time in the three step tower to other ranks of the Lightning institute and instead bought resources for Little Flame Belle.
While he was in a coma the man had taken care of his daughter, why wouldn't he be thankful as for Da Ren the guy was humble as said he didn't nothing more than his duty. But Cao Guang made a mental note to return the favour he owed the guy. The mage had helped him without knowing his identity or anything. He was the type of mage he aspired to be.
Cao Guang spent the rest of his time chatting with Little Flame Belle and Fenrir. Little Flame Belle's days were ok as there were people who could help her. She had been fed and she could train to vent her frustration with herself.
Fenrir on the other hand was in a different situation, the wolf had been cut off from his resource bag and was isolated. He didn't have a pack yet as Cao Guang thought a warrior level pack was useless in the Summoning plane. The wolf occupied a part of a small Hill and lived in a cave and hunted for his food.
He still managed to get into fights and injured himself, his recovery was still slow on his own but that didn't make a difference. Fenrir would not let Cao Guang help him heal as he thought of it as training as well.
Cao Guang vacated his stay in Clock Tower and left for Dunhuang, he was late for the yearly appointment with Little Flame Belle's mother and didn't want her suing him for sole custody.
Cao Guang met up with an angry Flame Belle Empress, but her anger faded when she realised only Cao Guang was injured. But she soon worried about whether the guy was the right father for her child. The family drama went on for some time.
