Chapter 87 - Chapter 87: Three step Tower

Cao Guang went to student services and got approval for the ten days he should have in the three step tower as his rightful reward for .. beating people up huh. No that didn't sound right. It was his reward for having an impressive cultivation.

The three step tower was one of the main reasons why the Pearl Institute was among the top two in China. The tower was build a Forbidden Curse Space mage centuries ago with help from Super mages of all elements.

The tower has different layers, each with a strong presence of a certain element. The first step in the layer exerted a pressure on the cultivator while providing 3 x faster cultivation. The second step exerted even more pressure and the third step the maximum. Hence the name, Three step tower.

There were also different levels for different mages, but generally it was used by intermediate mages to cultivate in the realm or break through to the Advanced level.

The Beauty of the Three step tower was that as long as certain resources were met, the tower could accelerate the cultivation for mages indefinitely.

It could provide minimal help to an Advanced mage and it was a waste of resources to allow basic mages to cultivate there. The pearl institute naturally ahd other methods to increase cultivation speeds for Basic and Advanced mages.

They weren't just as effective or famous.

Most universities were build on such sites capable of helping with cultivation.

Cao Guang showed his pass to the students guarding the Three step tower. It wasn't a meaning position, but it existed as a form of reward for the students.

Cao Guang made his way to the second Fire level he could find to correspond with his cultivation. The level seemed to exert very little pressure on him even though he could feel his cultivation improve just by standing their.

Human beings couldn't normally just absorb the energy in the environment, they needed the stars in their spiritual world and meditation to do that.

The three step tower was so effective they could skip step two if one so wished. But it could go even faster if one meditated. Cao Guang made up his mind and went up to the third Fire level even though it was above his level.

He reckoned he could make it work with his level three Mental Strength. Even some experienced advanced mages did not have his level of Mental Strength.

Cao Guang sat down after taking three steps further in to the level for maximum efficiency. He could feel a palpable tension in his mind while meditating as he send his attention to the excited Fire Nebula.

Cao Guang focused himself and raised the spiritual energy in his stars to help him promote faster. He could feel time slow down for himself as his body placed himself in a protective state.

It occured when mages meditated, the body would slow down metabolism and use spiritual energy and mana to function rather than carbohydrates and proteins. For a basic mage this process could last an hour at maximum and was inconsequential.

For an intermediate mage, this hibernation of sorts could be done for three days, an advanced mage could maintain it for half a month and a single element super could last a month. From that stage onwards. Mages went further and further away from the concept of human beings.

Each element could add another month to the hibernation phase, each tier of cultivation another month as well. A peak Super Mage could keep it up for 12 months straight. 4 months for elements and 8 months for tiers two and three in each element.

The break through went smoothly for Cao Guang as he directly reached the fourth tier of Intermediate level thanks to 49 Minion level Soul Essences he poured into his Fire Nebula previously. Forget his Summoning element he reckoned he could beat anyone in the Lightning institute's ranking battle with just his Fire element.

What's the point of cultivation of one doesn't show off. Do other mages have this thought?

It would be a new level of domination as he cast his fourth tier spell in front of an audience. He was right one of the great pleasure of being a mage was showing off.

It made sense why mages would do pointless duels and battles even when no resources or training were on the line. He still had nine days left in the towers as he ate a humble dinner and moved on to other elements.
