Cao Guang would normally have wanted to travel fast and reach Sunny Goat Village before Sundown. However he had decided to render another meritorious service.
The current military had no Knowledge of the fact that eating Ash Garlic would make the Undead ignore them in the night, even if they were in the battle zone.
Military usually travelled using one of three methods. Speed, reaching the destination fast enough and returning. Strength, or bringing a large enough troop to traverse through the paths or Stealth, during daylight they would walk through the Undead plains and during night they would take a detour through Qinling mountains with stealth.
Cao Guang wanted to promote the method of Ash Garlic, but currently it was a kept secret of some villages and he would demonstrate it's benefits tonight, for that he needed the squad to travel through and he was willing to take the risk.
"We'll be running at full speed to deliver the medicine. I'll summon Fenrir, on our way back we will traverse the Undead plains in the night"
"Wait seriously, I thought you were joking before. We will be joining the Undead before anything else" Gao Xuan complained.
It wasn't just Gao Xuan the other two were worried as well.
"You know how the Undead don't attack these villages around Ancient Capital, I have figured out one of their ways. I'll demonstrate it for you later and then we can move at night. I plan to promote this method to the army".
"You don't plan to use us a lab rats for something experimental do you? asked Luo Heng.
He had heard a few companies and even the military researching on such technology. The core idea was to make Demon creatures ignore their presence even in their own territories.
The problem was that they could only use objects without any magical properties as otherwise they would just end up attracting even more.
"Nothing experimental, this is something these villagers use all the time. No need to mention this infront of this Fang Gu guy. Got it" Cao Guang assured his teammates that he wasn't an evil scientist to best of his abilities.
The group had arrived at the gate and saw the man waiting at the mentioned location.
"Are you Fang Gu" Cao Guang inquired
"Yes, I am Fang Gu. We need to get to Sunny Goat Village as soon as possible though".
The man seemed to be in a hurry and skipped through all formalities.
" Very well, I'll summon my beast and you guide us if we go wrong".
Cao Guang did not tarry and summoned Fenrir, Since it was only three in the afternoon. If Fenrir could run for even just an over they would be almost there at Sunny Goat Village.
"What has happened in the Sunny Goat Village, why is there an upturn in diseases. Is there a possibility of a plague?". Cao Guang questioned the man after he calmed down and introduced himself as the chief of Sunny Goat Village.
" So the problem started about a week ago, one of my villagers got sick and our doctor had a look and prescribed a medicine, but the said person did not get better. This continued until a few more people started getting sick.
I came out to Ancient Capital as our doctor's medicines didn't work. A Healer from the army was dispatched and concluded that there were signs of poisoning.
The army then collected samples and brought me back to the city to bring more medicines they needed. The Healer and the other half of the army are still there in the village. They should be able to explain it better to you guys".
Cao Guang closed his eyes and analysed every word said by Fang Gu.
" What are their symptoms?"
" That's the thing, each person has had a different disease, fever, cough and so on. The Healer said although there are obvious signs of poisoning, all the poison has done so far is cause diseases to crop up. This is what has been confusing all of us" Fang Gu replied.
" As I see it there are two possibilities, A poison mage is trying out a new poison illegally or the aim of the poison is to supress the body's immune system and make it susceptible to every disease" Cao Guang analysed.
"Do you have any poison mages in your Village and has any mages been affected yet"
"No to both of them".
"It is a bit confusing then".
