Chapter 239 - Naga

The slaves imprisoned in the basement weren't low in intelligence. From the first day, Locke realised that his job was easier than he had imagined.

The only thing he had to overcome was the ubiquitous smell and psychological pressure.

Whether it was the base-rank giant crocodile or the other high-rank major monsters, they wouldn't dare to do anything to him even if he were to enter their cages.

Their high intelligence had also weakened their bestial instincts to the extreme.

Before they were captured, the middle-aged Magister had probably traumatised them. Even now, they didn't dare to approach the iron bars with magic alarms.

Locke still remembered that the base-rank giant crocodile could walk upright when it first boarded the ship. Now, it could only lie in the dark cage every day.

There were still three basins of food outside. Locke would probably need another hour to finish the job.

The grey-robed Magister didn't let Locke work for nothing. In Locke's opinion, the remuneration of mid-rank major monster crystal cores every day wasn't a loss.

When Locke walked into his room with a fishy smell, Angelina had already finished soaking in the bathtub.

"Hurry up and take a bath. You smell too much!" Angelina pinched her nose and took off his coat.

"Okay," Locke replied weakly and jumped into the bathtub.

"By the way, the two molted skins are in my spatial ring," said Locke to Angelina, who was lying on the edge of the bathtub.

Locke was the one who came up with the idea of exchanging food for the giant crocodile's molted skin. After discussing it with Angelina, they found that it was feasible.

Locke's froststeel armour was of high quality, and he wanted to add an inner armour for himself.

The golden inner armour that he had brought out of Glace's mansion had long been damaged and could no longer be used. Locke cherished his life and was looking for a replacement.

After Locke washed the clean water in the pool, the colour turned murky and yellow.

The food that the grey-robed Magister gave him was all dead fish and seafood that emitted a sour smell. He wasn't afraid of poisoning more than a hundred slaves.

It turned out that Locke was overthinking. With the physique of major monsters, they wouldn't die unless they were fed poison. At most, they would have diarrhoea a few times.

This also made the smell below the deck more and more unbearable.

He was already thinking of spending some money to hire a Wind Magician to ventilate the basement.

"If only I could get my hands on the blood of that giant crocodile," muttered Angelina, interrupting his thoughts.

"Blood? What do you want that for? " Locke asked curiously. He deduced that the base-rank major monster was a major monster that used wood and earth elemental powers. Angelina wouldn't normally use such materials unless she was doing experiments.

"That's a drake major monster. Can't you tell?" Angelina retorted.

"Lesser Dragon Magical Beast, so what?" He had heard of wyverns before. Wyverns with dragon blood were not simple. If the purity of their bloodline was high enough, they could become high-rank major monsters in adulthood.

"If Angie can get its blood, she'll definitely become much stronger," said Angelina as she rested her chin on her hand.

"I'll try it tomorrow." As a scorpiondrake, Angie looked like a large scorpion. For a moment, Locke had forgotten that there was a dragon in its name.

"If its bloodline breaks through, Angie might be able to fly!" Angelina was immersed in the fantasy of her pet being invincible.

Speaking of the little scorpiondrake, Angie looked exactly the same as its brothers and sisters that Locke had met in Morphey Forest.

It also had a barbed scorpiondrake head, sharp claws, and a glowing poisonous hook.

The only difference was that it was a meter or two shorter in size. Angie's scales were lighter in colour, while its base-rank brothers had darker carapaces.

However, their parents were different. Akanasd, a high-level magical beast covered in blue scales, had a pair of pitch-black wings, and was a powerful creature that could soar in the sky.

"If that giant crocodile isn't willing, then forget it!" Said Angelina as she held Locke's hand. Compared to her pet, she was more concerned about Locke's safety.

"Don't worry!" Locke stroked his chin as he thought about how to convince the base-rank major monster tomorrow.

The floating ship had been flying in the sky for more than three days. Below them was an endless ocean instead of a city.

Seeing the ocean for the first time, Locke wasn't as shocked as he had imagined. In his eyes, it was just a slightly bigger lake.

Locke had been curious about the vastness and mystery of the ocean for the past few days. He asked Angelina for a few books about the eastern ocean of Aomar so that he could read them whenever he had free time.

"Did the grandmeisterin say when we can reach the Sanctum?" Locke asked Angelina.

During the days on the floating ship, Angelina often went to her grandmeisterin's room. According to her, the old lady's room was more like a laboratory than a house for people to live in.

The incomprehensible space folding ability made the grandmeisterin's room three times larger than it looked.

"No." Angelina shook her head.

Apart from that, a lot of interesting things happened on the floating ship in the past few days.

After disappearing for a few days, the middle-aged, brown-bearded formal sorcerer reappeared with a few light blue, four-armed, fish-tailed creatures in his hands.

Locke had only seen Nagas in books before. They were intelligent creatures that only lived in the deep ocean.

As for the official Magician, after capturing these Nagas, he released them not long after.

"The Nagas are one of the top three forces in the Three Western Isles!" Angelina explained why the Magister let go of his prey so easily.

Most likely, the middle-aged Magister had received a warning from the Nagas or compromised.

"Is there a shortage of slaves?"

Although the middle-aged Magister didn't say anything, Locke could guess that the Magister wanted to enslave the Nagas.

Even Locke couldn't underestimate a four-armed Naga that was as strong as a high-rank Knecht.

"I don't know." Angelina shook her head in confusion. She only just realised that the Sanctum was a little different from what she had imagined.
