Chapter 237 - jobs

A strange ship was anchored at Zeckerton Harbour today.

The floating ship, whose keel was thirty meters away, fell from an altitude of ten thousand feet. The magician at the helm was very skilled, and there wasn't even the slightest splash on the deck.

Only the newcomers would be amazed by the magical ship that descended from the sky, and the residents of Port Zeckerton for generations were already used to it.

A ship like this would appear almost every two or three years. This year, it appeared a little more frequently. This was already the fourth ship.

On the deck, the grey-robed Magister was gathering the Lehrlings on the ship. "We'll rest here today and replenish the ship's energy!"

The grey-robed elder's voice wasn't loud, but everyone could hear it clearly and accurately.

"Someone will arrange accommodation for you at the harbour below. You may disembark now!" The grey-robed elder pointed with his arm. * Thud! * The crossbar of the ship had already reached the shore.

Many sailors could be vaguely seen gathering under the ship. They were pulling ropes and docking the floating ship steadily by the shore.

They'd been on the ship for five days. Many of the weaker casters were suffering from seasickness due to the high-speed flight. The moment the floating ship finally docked by the shore, many anxious Lehrlings had already rushed off the bow and vomited on the shore.

"Let's disembark too!" Locke shouted at Angelina and Daenie. Given his physique, he wouldn't have known about the aftereffects of being on a floating ship if it weren't for the fact that some Lehrlings were suffering from seasickness.

Angelina's physique wasn't bad either. As a princess, she'd eaten countless high-rank major monsters since she was young. The strengthening effect of major monster meat on her body was comparable to that of a beginner-rank Knecht.

Daenie's identity as a water elemental caster helped her escape from the disaster.

Water casters, plant casters, and light casters were the most mainstream healers. Daenie only needed to cast a simple moisturizing spell on herself every day to help her get rid of the pain of seasickness.

"Okay!" Angelina held Daenie's arm and they were about to join the queue. She'd been living on the ship for five days straight, so she couldn't help but feel a little bored. Zeckerton Port was located on the eastern coast of Aomar and she'd never been there before.

Just as he was about to disembark, a Magister's voice stopped him in his tracks.

"That high-rank Knecht over there, come here!" The grey-robed elder waved at Locke.

When Locke walked up to him in confusion, the old man forced a smile. "You're the knight who boarded the ship with Parlina, aren't you? Not bad, you're pretty tough!" He patted Locke's chest plate with his scrawny arm.

He was clearly a caster, but the strength he exerted was no less than that of a knight of the same rank. Locke endured the stifling feeling in his chest and asked, "What can I do for you, Sir?"

"Oh! There's something I need your help with! "The old man smiled. His smile made Locke feel uneasy.

"Do you know what's down there?" The grey-robed elder tapped the deck with his wand. Locke knew that he was referring to the major monsters in the basement.

"Yes." Locke nodded.

"These major monsters can't be seen by ordinary people. The high-rank Knechts in Zeckerton Port have been summoned away by the Hall of Knights," said the old man.

"So, in order to prevent them from starving to death, we need a brave and capable lad to feed them once a day!" The grey-robed elder narrowed his eyes and looked at Locke with satisfaction, as if Locke had agreed to his request.

"Well..." Locke's neck twitched. There were close to two hundred major monsters below the deck. Wouldn't he die of exhaustion if he had to feed so many of them every day?

Not to mention, there was also a base-rank major monster and seven or eight high-rank major monsters. Locke would only agree if he was tired of living.

Just as Locke was about to bring up the grandmeisterin and reject the grey-robed elder, the old man said something he didn't expect.

"Parlina, a Magister has also agreed with me." The old man was still smiling with his eyes squinted. Locke really wanted to punch the old man.

"Alright," Locke replied weakly. How could a mere Knecht like him refuse a decision made by two Magisters?

"Here's the key to the basement and the magic stones to open the cages." With that, the grey-robed Magister flew to the room on the fourth floor of the floating ship without saying a word to Locke.

Locke watched the grey-robed Magister leave and waited for the Magister to enter the room before following Angelina and Parlina dejectedly.

"Did the Magister want to talk to you about something?" Angelina shot Locke a curious look.

"Nothing much." Locke shook his head. Feeding major monsters wasn't something to be proud of and he didn't want Angelina to worry about him. It was a mission that the grandmeisterin had agreed to.

"Let's go. Let's take a look around Zeckerton Port!" Locke said to Angelina and Daenie with a smile.

He'd carried out many missions in the past but the furthest he'd gone was in the central and eastern part of Aomar. This was his first time visiting the easternmost part of the coast.

"I didn't expect such a long journey to take us only five days," Locke exclaimed. Locke sighed. He'd studied the map of Aomar before. It was a vast empire that occupied nearly three-fifths of Missia. It would take four months to travel from the imperial capital to the eastern coast on horseback, even if they rode day and night without rest.

Who would've thought that they'd arrive in just five days?

Zeckerton Port gave Locke and the others a completely different feeling from Princeton and the other major cities of Aomar.

Compared to the solemnity of Princeton, Zeckerton Port was fresh and full of vitality. Locke preferred living in a place like this.

The sailors on the shore were shouting and pulling the floating ship with thick ropes. The floating ship that was flying in the sky a few hours ago was now quietly anchored on the sea.

Apart from the floating ship, there were also fishing boats and merchant ships of different models entering and leaving the port from time to time. Tax officers in black clothes and top hats were registering each ship.

On the road further inside, there were countless vendors sitting on the ground, introducing their wares to the passersby, mainly seafood and fish.

It was a scene of prosperity.
