Sure enough, it wasn't just Henry who hadn't returned to school. Based on Locke's estimation, they wouldn't be back until a day or two before school reopened.
Since he didn't see anyone he knew, he went to look for Angelina.
Apart from Henry and the others, Locke also saw an old acquaintance of Perseverance — Elaine. He hadn't seen her in school for nearly two months after meeting her in the canteen. It was as if she had vanished into thin air.
"Maybe she's gone home." Locke sighed. He had once followed her to her house and pretended to be her boyfriend. So much time had passed in the blink of an eye.
While sighing, Locke walked towards the caster faculty.
When he arrived at the gate, he found that the evil eye was still guarding the gate.
This time, he didn't stop. Under the surprised gazes of the surrounding knights and casters, he strode through the gate.
Just when everyone thought that this person would be hit by the Evil Eye guarding the door with a "Death Ray", unexpectedly, the Evil Eye only raised its tentacles slightly before putting them down again.
"Yes, I can!" Locke stroked his stubble and thought that he hadn't fed it for nothing last time.
He took out a red low-rank crystal core from his spatial ring and threw it to the evil eye like last time.
"This person must be a high-rank knight. The evil eye actually didn't touch him."
"My pants were almost burnt when I tried to get close to it last time."
"A major monster crystal core? Is he a tycoon? "
...
They were surrounded by low-level or beginner-level knights and mages, all of whom seemed to be discussing spiritedly.
Although Locke knew where Angelina and the others' classroom was, he didn't move. It was a rule that knights weren't allowed to enter the caster faculty. Just because the evil eye guarding the gate let him in didn't mean that he could do whatever he wanted.
Locke thought, I'll just sit at the door and wait for Angelina.
When the noon sun slowly set behind the treetops, Locke fed the evil eye two low-rank crystal cores. Angelina and the other casters were all there.
Joaquin, Daenie, Billie and Mina were all there to send Angelina off.
"Let's go!" Locke stood up and patted his butt before shouting at Angelina.
"Are you having fun with it?" asked Joaquin as she glanced sideways at the evil eye that was interacting with him.
Locke shrugged and did not respond to the woman's words. Perhaps it was because they were born to be enemies with each other. Even though they owed each other a lot of favours, they still ended up fighting each other after just a few words.
He'd witnessed the chatter between the women before. If it weren't for the fact that they couldn't be late for the meeting with the grandmeisterin, he reckoned that Angelina would've chatted with Joaquin and the others for the entire afternoon.
After bidding farewell to Joaquin and the others, he and Angelina walked on the way to Grandmeisterin's Mage Tower.
"Eh? Why are you here? " Only then did he realise that Daenie hadn't returned to the academy with Joaquin and the rest. Instead, she'd come here with them.
"Don't you know that Daenie is going to the Sanctum too?" Angelina asked curiously as she held Daenie's arm.
"Is that so? When did you say that? " Locke really didn't know how precious a place in the Sanctum was. Daenie was only a low-rank Lehrling, so how did she get one?
"Grandmeisterin is a water caster and she's looking for a water Lehrling. I recommended Daenie," said Angelina as if it was a trivial matter.
Angelina's recommendation for Daenie to go to the Sanctum wasn't a secret in Joaquin's circle. Everyone knew about it during the gathering a few days ago, except for Locke, who hadn't been paying attention.
"Congratulations, Daenie. You have a Magister to look after you," said Locke with a smile.
Daenie was a naive girl, but she wasn't completely clueless. She humbly replied, "It's all thanks to Angelina's recommendation."
Grandmeisterin only said that she wanted a water Lehrling. It could be that she wanted to take Daenie in as her own disciple, or that she needed someone to help her with her experiments. As for how far Daenie would go, that would depend on her own luck.
Back when Locke first arrived at the academy, Daenie was the first one he got to know among Angelina's sisters. She spoke softly and was neither arrogant nor hot-tempered. She had always left a good impression on Locke.
As he sneaked a peek at Daenie, he suddenly remembered the first time they met. It was outside the academy's campus and he even shook hands with her.
It was then that he met Angelina's grandmeisterin in front of the mysterious Sanctum.
Now that he saw her, he was even more surprised.
"What's that?" Locke pointed at a floating ship in the air, his mouth gaping so wide that a fist could fit inside.
Daenie shook her head. It was her first time seeing it too, so she was just as surprised as Locke.
Only Angelina, who was the most knowledgeable among the three, hesitantly uttered a name. "A floating ship?"
"That's right!" It was an elderly female voice that answered Angelina. The grandmeisterin was standing behind the three of them.
Today, the grandmaster was wearing a light blue robe, very much in line with her Water Magician aura. As long as this old lady stood there, it was impossible to ignore her existence. Whether it was the strength of the magic power in the body or the powerful mental strength, an official Magician was like a lighthouse in the dark, loud and clear.
"Let's go up!" Said the grandmeisterin concisely. Before Locke and the others could react, their bodies gradually rose into the air. Locke felt as if there was an invisible force pushing him upwards.
The floating ship was about twenty metres in the air, which was close to the height of a small cliff. Locke and Angelina were fine, but Daenie was shivering a little. Locke wasn't sure if it was because she was scared, or if it was because they were ascending too fast.
Only after Locke grabbed Daenie's hand did she stop shivering and blushed. She didn't pull her hand out and let him hold it.
As soon as Locke let go of her hand, Daenie pulled her hand out at the speed of light and started chatting with Angelina as if nothing had happened. Angelina was completely immersed in the shock of seeing the floating ship for the first time, so she didn't notice the two's actions at all.
Locke didn't think too much about what happened just now. He just wanted to give Daenie a little support. Her pitiful expression made Locke snap out of his daze and he reached out his hand to her.
"Parlina, is that your new Lehrling?" Asked an old voice. It was a grey-robed old man standing on the stairs of the floating ship. He was looking in the direction of Angelina and Daenie.
