Chapter 182 - Plane War

In the northwest corner of the Sorcerer World, in the center of Missia Island, Texas Island, and Ingrid Island, which were known as the Three Western Isles, there was a snow-white tower that was thousands of meters tall standing on the surface of the sea. The three islands were regarded as continents by ordinary people, but were regarded as islands by spellcasters and powerful knights.

The white Sanctum pierced through the clouds, and below it was a giant forest that looked like an ecological garden. There were many terrifying creatures that were at least ranked major monsters.

These monsters that had reached level-one or level-two were merely watchdogs for the Sanctum's Magicians, or experimental subjects for the Magicians to rear.

At the bottom of the Sanctum was a disc-shaped building. Many Magicians walked in and out of it, almost all of them high-rank Lehrlings. There were also many official Magicians among them. This was the Sanctum's school, and the official Magicians were the teachers of the high-rank Lehrlings.

From the bottom of the Sanctum to the top, there were Magicians living on every floor. As the number of floors increased and the height increased, so did the strength of the Magicians.

On the 436th floor of the Sanctum sat a dozen or so Magicians in robes or tall hats. They all looked different from each other.

Why did they have different shapes? It was because some of them didn't have legs on their lower bodies. Instead, they were a ball of flames. Some of them were a pile of white crystals. There were even some that didn't look like humans at all. They either had spider-like heads or their faces were completely blank. It was as if a piece of flawless white skin was stuck to their faces. They gave off a strange and horrifying feeling.

Fortunately, these few were special cases. Most of the magicians could still be recognized as humans by their appearance.

"Master Banam's order came from the Void Fortress. Centaurus needs a million slaves and two thousand Magicians to fight. Who's going?" A hoarse voice came from an old man in a black robe, as if there was a piece of iron stuck in his throat. He was shrouded in black mist, so no matter how close you were, you couldn't see what he looked like.

Everyone in the meeting room looked at each other, but no one said anything.

After a while, an old woman with a face full of freckles spoke up. "Isn't Centaurus about to fall under Master Banam's attack? Why do they still need reinforcements?"

"It seems like their plane's consciousness has awakened for a few seconds," the old man explained.

The conference room fell silent again. The awakening of the plane's consciousness would at least temporarily increase the combat power of the people in the plane by a third. If they wanted to conquer the Centaur Plane, it would probably take another one to two hundred years.

"What about Fairy World?" In the conference room, a black raven stood on the shoulder of a magician and spoke. The raven's intelligent expression and fluent language showed that it was quite intelligent.

"We'll have to give up on Fairy World for now. We need to focus on Master Banam's strategy." Another mage whose body was half on fire and the other half was a block of ice said helplessly. His tone was full of bitterness.

"Hmph, that is a miniature plane that produces Activated Essence. I don't believe that a person like you, who maintains the Body of Ice and Fire, won't be tempted." Crow glanced at the Magician disdainfully.

"What did the Hall of Knights say?" asked another Magician in the meeting room.

"All the Knights in the recruitment period have followed Master Gaia and Master Zachary to Centaurus," a Magician said.

"I heard that they transferred more than half of their reserve knights to the Centaurus World," said another mage who had heard the news.

"Those two Centaurus Gods are that powerful? Even Master Banam, Master Gaia and Master Zachary couldn't take them down. "

"After all, the plane's consciousness was awakened by the Centaurus."

"That shouldn't be the case."

.....

The quiet meeting room slowly became as noisy as a market. The black-robed old man in charge of the meeting shouted "silence" a few times, but to no avail. In the end, a black light shone from the seal in the old man's hand, and the meeting room fell silent.

The black crow widened its eyes and looked at the Magicians around it, who had their mouths wide open, but couldn't say anything.

Silent Light was the signature spell of Master Banam, the master of the Sanctum. This was just a weaker version of it. Under normal circumstances, the spell should've frozen and dulled the surrounding elements, instead of just isolating sound like it was doing now.

When everyone in the meeting room fell silent, the old man sighed and put the seal away. The black light disappeared.

It wasn't just the black raven. Everyone in the meeting room looked at the seal with a solemn expression. It was a token that Grandmaster Banam had left for the black-robed old man. It meant that the black-robed old man was in charge of most of the Sanctum's affairs in his absence.

"The problem now is who's going to fight in Centaurus," the old man sighed. The black-robed elder sighed. He really didn't want to be the vice-principal of the Sanctum Academy anymore. Not only was it tiring, it was also easy to offend people. He wanted to immerse himself in his own laboratory instead of this pointless argument.

"I'll go!" a Magician wearing a mask said.

"Me too!"

"Me too!"

More than half of the dozen or so Magicians in the room raised their hands.

A quill appeared in front of the black-robed old man, and with a rustle, a series of names were recorded on the parchment.

"Let's take the slaves from Sandman and the newly enslaved Lava Giants," the black-robed old man suggested. No one objected.

The meeting ended. When the old man left with the parchment with the names of the Magicians, the atmosphere in the room lightened.

"Another eight level-three Magicians have joined the battle. Centaurus can only hold on for another 100 years at most." The black crow flew up and landed on the shoulders of the other Magicians, chatting with them.

"What's the use of that? The more valuable Fairy World has slipped away from our hands. I wonder when we'll be able to capture such a dimensional waymark again." The person who spoke to the crow was a middle-aged Magician. From his tone, one could tell that he sounded very regretful.

"That's not necessarily true." The crow's eyes widened. It first looked around to make sure no one was paying attention to them, then flew to the middle-aged Magician's ear and whispered, "Don't forget that we still have Master Odysseus in the Three Western Isles."

"Oh?" The middle-aged Magician looked interested. "What news do you have?"

The black crow didn't say anything. Instead, it winked and rubbed its wings.
