Chereads / VRMMO: MOTHER GODDESS / Chapter 20 - Entering the cave Again

Chapter 20 - Entering the cave Again

After making the decision, I didn't hesitate for a moment and ran back towards the village.

I reached the village faster; my satiation is now 70; it was 100 when I came here.

Just as I reached the village, Verdantia was waiting for me.

"I am sorry, lady Elowen. I didn't know the condition of the area. Now that Forest Spirit alarmed me after you left, I also tried to call you back, but you were coming back without even calling, so I was relieved." Verdantia extended her hand and tried holding my hand.

"Yes, I can fight them, but I was getting corrupted by ancient demon energy," I said to Verdantia. I want compensation.

"Ancient Demonic Energy!" Hearing this, Verdantia was shocked.

"Are you serious, Lady Elowen?"

"Yes, I saw and felt on my own, and I don't have any reason to lie to you."

"Then, Lady Elowen, we need to clear it as fast as we can; it must be that the Dungeon boss is interfering outside. It can be a serious problem. I have a potion that was made many years ago when our ancestors decided to visit the dungeon, but it was never used. It will be able to resist ancient demon energy for 10 minutes, which means you have cleared everything in 10 minutes.

"10 minutes, huh?"

"I have two, so it can take 20 minutes, but no more than that. We can make more, but we don't have ingredients," Verdantia said.

"Oh, 20 minutes are enough. I think if not, I will run away or take them out of the cave."

"Okay, Lady Elowen I will bring them right away, and we will also go; although we can't assist inside, we will be able to assist outside the cave." Verdantia is gesturing towards the fairies behind her.

"Okay, but leave Ellara here only."

"Okay, Lady Elowen." After saying that, she left and came back in a few minutes.

"Here Lady Elowen," Verdantia gave two silver-coloured potions.

I looked towards the potion.

[Item: Corruption Protection Potion

Rank: B-

Effect: Can prevent corruption from anything below the devil's effect for 10 minutes.]

"Okay, it's correct, then let's go, Village Chief Verdantia." After that, I led 10 more fairies. Behind me, it all looks like it's ready for war, but all are actually healers.

After I led fast and reached the cave,

"From here on, you are on your own, lady Elowen. We will wait for you, but before that, we can give you some buff, and here is the antidote to poison these serpents."

Just as Verdantia said, I felt many green lights flee towards me and enter my body.

[Your HP has been increased by 50 points for 30 minutes.]

[Your MP has been increased by 70 points for 30 minutes.]

[You will recover 5 HP per second for 20 minutes.]

[You will recover 10 MP per second for 20 minutes.]

[Your All Star Boosted with 10 points for 20 minutes]

"I hope you are satisfied, Lady Elowen."

"Satisfied, it's amazing, so that's what Wood Fairy can do amazing."

After looking at buffs, I also took out the potion and drank it. There was a small skin barrier that appeared on the body and was covered all over. I didn't feel bad.

[You have drunk the Corruption Protection Potion. You have received 10 minutes of protection from any kind of corruption except for the mind and the devil.]

[19:58]

"It was bitter. See you, Village Chief Verdantia. If I am in danger, please bombard the cave."

After saying that, I came near the entrance of the cave and made a decision.

Just as I entered, I felt a little bit of discomfort, but it was good, which means I am not getting corrupted.

I can feel more and more evil auras. The cave doesn't look big, so it means the boss is not far.

I started walking inside the cave, which is dark, but not much I can see clearly.

Just as I walked for a few metres, I saw three flying serpents in front of me, like they were literally waiting for me.

"It's time to fight." I also got ready.

'One is level 13; two are level 12. I guess I will not be using my spirit magic because their health has been low. I don't know the reason, but yes, they are not completely well.'

"Nature Guard Summon" I used my first skill because I don't want to fight one vs. three.

And just as I used the skill with a flash of light, a tree appeared in front of me.

[Tree Demon

Level 12

Skills: Entangle, Prison, Demonic Suction

Description: A demonic tree that is friendly to most races found in the World Tree Forest most]

"I will be in your care, Mr. Tree Demon." I looked towards a weird tree without any dark leaves, with a green gem in the middle of it.

"It's my honour to help you, Lady Nature Elf."

"Then let's start our match."

(3rd-person POV)

Elowen and Tree Demon stood in front, facing off against three flying serpents. The cave's limited access to nature magic added to the intensity of their confrontation. So it will be hard, but not much of a problem.

As the serpents descended, they started flying towards them. Elowen summoned her Thorny Vines skill in a desperate attempt to create some natural defense. But in the confines of the cave, the vines struggled to emerge, and only a few feeble strands managed to impede the serpents' advance.

"Shit, I was overconfident in nature. Nature magic is bad here. I need to think something up quick," Elowen shouted to herself.

The serpents, swift and cunning, circled Elowen and Tree Demon, delivering slashing Wind Cutter attacks. Elara skillfully dodged some, but one serpent's attack managed to graze her leg.

The gash stung, and the venom from the serpent's demonised poison skill coursed through her veins.

The Tree Demon, sensing the urgency, unleashed his Demonic Suction skill, drawing in the air around the serpents. It disrupted their flight patterns and left them struggling to maintain control, killing one of them.

However, the serpents retaliated fiercely, inflicting more damage with their Wind Fury abilities. The tree demon's wooden form groaned under the force of the winds, leaving visible cracks in his bark.

Elowen gritted her teeth, her verdant healing skill working diligently to neutralise the demonised poison. The throbbing pain in her leg began to subside, but she knew they couldn't endure much longer in this cave's treacherous conditions.

Desperate to end the confrontation, Elowen conceded her Wood Spear, her best chance for victory. With a swift and precise thrust, she impaled one of the serpents, causing it to plummet to the cave floor, defeated.

As the serpent lay lifeless, Elowen's gaze shifted to the tree demon, who was bearing the brunt of the remaining serpents' attacks.

Summoning all her strength, Elara enacted her Spirit Barrier skill to protect the tree demon from further harm. The barrier shimmered into existence, forming an invisible shield around the tree-like demon. The serpents' wind-fury attacks raged against it, unable to break through.

With the serpents focused on the tree demon and his protective barrier, Elowen seized the opportunity to summon her Wood Spear once more. This time, she aimed for the serpent's heart, her throw true and unwavering.

The spear pierced through the serpent's chest, ending the battle with a burst of radiant energy.

As the last serpent fell, Elowen and the tree demon shared a moment of relief within the cave's oppressive darkness. Though they had both sustained injuries, their invasive mission had been successful, but the cave was still a threat.

"Fuck, finally, we need to heal to fight the final boss. I'm going to use a bomb next time."

After taking the antidote and healing completely, Elowen ignored the system notification and stared towards the tree demon, who could stay for an hour to fight.

Looking at the injuries that are healing at a slow speed

"This is going to be tough, but I will go all out and use my bombs and skills together."

"Let's advance, Mr. Tree Demon," she said clumsily. The tree demon didn't say anything; he started following her.
