Amairah Garcia's POV:
I glanced at the broken nib of my pen as I sighed thinking I didn't applied that much force that it could break or that was of cheapest quality but how could they give a Queen the cheapest quality of pen. It must be the force I had applied or the pen was getting old just like me lying in the same room since I had gained consciousness.
I glanced at the room sitting on my couch as the room had all the luxuries that a Queen could have but I didn't have the luxury of going out and breathe in the same air like everybody else. I have the most expensive clothes as sometimes I think that they give me all the luxuries just to not spite me off. They are scared of me or they hate me.
I haven't gone out of this room but still I know what is happening in my reign-Yes my reign, My Fated Kingdom, on which I am not allowed to rule.
Seeing the hands I am familiar with in all these years made me think several emotions as when the feminine hands like mine give me a fancy tray of food I think they care for me. When the masculine hands come to make me stamp on some papers without even letting me read them I think they are scared of me but when I become sick and no one comes in for me I think they are definitely scared and they hate me too.
I must be a burden on them.
I know a difference between a man's and a woman's hands because I read books. Yes, books the epitome of knowledge. I know the difference between their desires as I have all the novels-Bold, mature and tragic. I don't know from where I learned to read as when I gained consciousness in this room I knew few words as one of them was Father.
I don't have any emotions attached to this word as I have never seen him or I don't remember him and I have lost the chance to do because he is dead. The masculine hands came to sign the scroll with my rings announcing to the people that I am the new Queen after my father's death and this time those hands let me read that. I definitely didn't have any emotions but I still felt my cheeks wet when I read those words again and again.
Knock...
I sighed in contentment praying to be this food lady as she was the only one I think who cares for me. I got up from the couch when I see the small square shape window beside the door opening. They never came through the door as they always pass things through that small window and all I was familiar with the hands.
The hands protruded with a fancy tray of food placing it on the table through the curtain.
I want new pens, ink and papers.
I wrote that on the small paper as in my childhood when I used to speak they ran away from me. They didn't want to hear my voice so I stopped talking long ago.
I stroke the paper against her palm and she grabbed closing the window. I grabbed my tray of food along with my novel based on a fairytales. I loved them because of happy endings.
I never hoped for a happy ending for me as I was happy with my books and the room. I never wished to come out of this room and threatened the happy ending of the people of my Kingdom.
I just got the news that the Fated Kingdom is no longer mine as some Dark Spades have conquered it. I don't know if it's a bad thing or it will bring peace to my people after my Father's death but I can't do anything. The best thing I am doing is to keep myself in the room.
The moment I opened my book I felt something-Heat. I usually remain cold but I never felt this warmness as if it was erupting from my chest. I placed my palm against my chest to feel my heart pumping erratically. I removed my shoes as I felt sweat trickling my toes.
Closing the book I turned around to glance at the door of my room. There was something out there or someone as I could see the shadow beneath the door.
I gathered my gown as I was still in my white colored sleeping gown. I moved towards the door when my breath hitched. The door was opening.
That freaking door was opening.
Well I also learned the cursed words from the novels especially from the villains and funny characters. Sometimes the badass hero also used them. I still have to figure out who I am among them.
I took a step back as light came through the door followed by the sight of a man. His hands were on the knob as he entered inside. Before I could see his face I abruptly looked down at his shoes.
I couldn't make an eye contact as I didn't know what could happen. I also wanted to see and know this man I saw for the first time after getting familiar with hands.
I took a step back again as I saw those leathers shoes coming towards me. They were shiny. There was an utter silence in the room as I felt there were only me and him. If the Dark Spades have come to kill me they wouldn't have send a single man. They were scared of me they must have sent dozens of men for me.
"Look at me." God! The Voice.
His rough voice reached my ears as it took me time to understand that but I did. I thought he was fed up from his life that's why he wanted me to look into his eyes and ruin his life more or he didn't know me.
Many thoughts were swirling around my head as he came more close when I moved back again. In all these years I thought people were scared of me but for the first time I thought that I was also scared of someone and that was this first man ever walked into my life.
"I have asked you something." I felt him gritting his teeth as sometimes I do that too when I am in pain or frustration.
Was he in pain because of me or he was frustrated because of me?
But why would he be frustrated because of me?
Because you aren't listening to him.
My inner voice to which I was having conversation for years answered my silly questions as I got to know he was frustrated. Now I have to look up before he gets too frustrated. I took a deep breath then another and then another. I still couldn't find the courage to look up as I wanted to look at a human being but I was scared.
"At first I thought you are dumb but you are deaf too I guess." He asked as this time I felt his voice annoyed like I feel when I couldn't find my desired book. I finally decided to look up as I decided to warn him before. I knew my voice would come out shaky but I have to do this.
"I-it can be dangerous." I warned him as I finally looked up to see his face.
He was so tall and big. He was wearing a black cardigan with golden buttons making his outfit fitted to him perfectly. I then glanced upwards at his neck as his veins were popping out making beautiful patterns. My eyes fell on his jaw as it was as sharp as blade with trimmed beard on his face.
I don't have that. Or only men have that?
My breath hitched as I glanced at him in the eyes. Those were dark grey totally different from mine. Mine was hazel. I liked my eyes but his were more beautiful but then I looked the coldness in them. He was looking at me with emotions that I couldn't register.
I felt warning him again. In case he was one of the members of the Dark Spades and came here mistakenly.
"N-no one is allowed h-here." I was constantly stepping backward as those grey eyes were sending shivers to run down my spine. I hadn't seen many people or none that I could remember in my life as I was seeing those piercing grey eyes for the first time in my life.
"I own this whole Kingdom now..." He grabbed my neck in an instant making my eyes go wide. The first ever contact of a living being."...and now I own you too." His eyes were getting hungry as I felt something was changing in his eyes. I felt the heat between me and him rising as it was because I was around a living being's aura for the first time.
The heat intensifies the moment he touched me as tears gathered in my eyes with my whole body shivering. He was looking at my every feature keenly when I felt someone else entering the room.
"Is this the Queen's room? Where is she?" The man, few inches shorter than this grey eyed man, came inside searching the room as if her throat in that man's hold wasn't a big deal for him. I had read in books that raising hands on a woman was not a gentlemen's thing.
"We should ask her about that Conner. Take her and find the Queen she must have hiding in order to not show her face."
