Chapter 16 - Chapter 16 – Playing Hero

The three bandits drew closer to Love Clinic, giggling sinisterly in a bid to strike fear into Aaron's heart.

Elsa who had seen them up close, gulped and stepped back again.

Aaron glanced at her from the corner of his eyes and smiled. Elsa couldn't be blamed for her reaction since it was understandable for her to naturally respond as she did to a threat she was powerless against.

After all, Aaron looked about the same age as her and she didn't expect him to do anything miraculously against these three men in front of them.

The weakest-looking one among them was probably one and a half times the size of Aaron. The three of them were as massive as their boss.

"New rules, kids," one shamelessly declared. "Everyone in this village is to pay a tribute of a million star shillings for your lives."

"A million star shillings!" Elsa exclaimed in her mind as she watched what was unfolding.

Aaron lowered his head and laughed, covering his face from them.

"You are surely joking, right?" he asked. "Let's say I agree to give you a million star shillings. Where is anyone supposed to get that?"

The three bandits looked at each other and thought about it for a minute. Somewhere in their head, in that brief moment, they probably asked themselves the same question that Aaron had posed to them.

"It doesn't matter! You bring the money now or we can't guarantee your safety when the boss comes!" the mohawk hairstyled one among them continued.

"Don't worry about my safety, I can protect myself," Aaron retorted, "if that will be all, I would like to get back to my business."

Aaron turned to leave their presence when Mohawk Guy gritted his teeth and drew a curved sword in anger. He immediately dashed towards Aaron with his weapon tightly gripped in his hand as he went for a vertical slash on Aaron's back.

"Master!" Elsa cried out with broadened eyes, "Watch out!"

The curved blade danced in the air, striking its mark but not striking it at the same time.

It was the fact that he missed that shocked Mohawk. The bandit was certain that his blade struck a form, only to see that what he struck had no mass.

It was Aaron's afterimage.

POWWW!

In an instant, a stick smacked Mohawk's face violently, leaving a straight, vertical red bruise over the centre of his face.

Mohawk was still in shock at Aaron's speed that it seemed as though he had forgotten how to feel pain.

Aaron grabbed him by his hair and pulled him close while jamming his knee into his private area.

Mohawk's eyes quickly rolled up, leaving only the white of the eyes. He felt his testes travel up into his abdomen and his belly twisting inside of him like it was being wriggled severely.

"Ugh," he moaned from the excruciating pain.

Unable to process the sudden pangs of pain that his body was experiencing, Mohawk dropped to the ground and squirmed on the sand and stones while his weapon fell off his hand.

Aaron sighed. "So much for the braggadocio. Tch!"

Unsatisfied, he shifted his focus to Mohawk's other comrades.

"Who's next?"

Meanwhile, Elsa's jaw dropped with astonishment as she watched how fast her master had gotten rid of Mohawk, someone who was almost twice his size.

The fight that the bandits had brought to Aaron's doorstep ended in a jiffy. An unbelievable event to Elsa's azure eyes that witnessed it happen.

Out of the three bandits that had come to make the demand of a million star shillings from Aaron and the Love Clinic, Mohawk lasted the longest.

Aaron dropped Mohawk within thirty seconds of him taking the first step to slash his curved blade.

The other two noticed the light in their eyes cease to be before they could even realise what hit them. Aaron's hands had struck their carotid arteries firmly, knocking the both of them out in a single strike each.

It took just eighteen seconds after putting Mohawk down to do this.

Elsa's lips were shaking as she watched, afraid to cheer in admiration or shout out of fear. She realised quite quickly that they may look like age-mates but she and Aaron were not mates on any scale.

Aaron touched their bodies with his foot and sighed.

"Disappointing," he said with a disgusted face, "humans in this world are weaker than the previous one. I'm sure Ser Grimm would handle these guys with one swing of his Demon Slayer."

Aaron looked at them for a while longer and as if something hit him, he turned to Elsa with eyes glimmering like baby's.

"Take care of the clinic."

Elsa finally came out of the shop, "Where are you going, master?" she asked.

Aaron looked at the three unconscious bodies and began to pick them by their clothes, dragging them along with him.

"To see these guys off," he answered back to Elsa.

.

.

.

"I suggest you let the old man go!" Aaron's voice demanded, travelling through the air from afar to reach the hulking man.

Aaron dragged the three unconscious bodies along with him as he headed over to where the bandits and the villagers were gathered.

He noticed one of the bandits approach the hulking man and say something to him but that didn't matter to Aaron.

"And who are you again?" the hulky man asked as Aaron got closer.

The two of them stood about twenty metres apart, looking at each other with intense stares.

"Aaron Winters," Aaron answered honestly.

"Hmm," the man muttered, noticing the bodies that Aaron carried with him closely.

Now he was sure it was his men.

"Nice of you to bring them back."

Aaron's nose instantly twitched and he rubbed them with his hands but that didn't help in shaking off the smell.

The odor he perceived was from the mouth of the man in front of him and he only just realised it.

"Your breath might just kill him before you do," Aaron said with a mock chuckle.

The hulky man dropped the elder, as he fell buttocks first to the ground, and faced Aaron.

"I see that you're a cocky one."

Aaron let go of his grip on the clothes of the already defeated bandits.

"With that mouth of yours, you shouldn't be making any demands."
