As Bai Shen began his slaughter, Tang Yue and the others were busy fighting the few zombies that separated them from the gate.
Not wasting time with the zombies, the group of nine people used everything they had to swiftly kill them.
Tang Yue stabbed ahead with her sword toward an incoming zombie, while Luo Tian used his bow and released a few arrows; trying his best to reach his targets without injuring his allies.
"Catch him!" A lanky student equipped with a knife tried to slash at a zombie that was being stopped by three others. He quickly rushed to the side and managed to hit its eye.
"Grraa..." The zombie squirmed for a while, but under the combined attacks of four humans who got stronger thanks to their systems, it eventually fell down to the ground.
Very shortly, the six zombies that were close to the gate succumbed to the students' teamwork.
"Luo Tian, take the others and leave!" Tang Yue looked at Luo Tian as she said this.
"Wait! Where are you going?" Luo Tian quickly grabbed her hand and stopped Tang Yue from leaving.
Frowning a bit as Luo Tian grabbed her, Tang Yue glared at him. "Let go! I need to return and help Bai Shen! He's alone against a horde of zombies."
"Help... Who? You better look at the situation again..." As Luo Tian said this, he shook his head and turned to look at the others.
He then said, "Let's go, guys. There's nothing else remaining for us to do."
Tang Yue was still stunned, but when she turned around to look in Bai Shen's direction, she understood why Luo Tian said that.
'Unbelievable...' She was completely dazed by Bai Shen's performance, who seemed to have killed almost ten times the number of zombies they did.
'Could he even be considered human anymore at this point?!' Her daze then turned into shock, as she barely managed to see how his figure appeared behind a zombie, as if transcending space itself.
Only a few afterimages remained in his previous position; but they too quickly disappeared.
'Such speed could only be achieved by supercars, there's no way a human could be that fast!'
Shaking her head, Tang Yue resolutely turned around to leave. There was no reason for her to stay here.
The most she could do was to not be a burden to Bai Shen.
Bai Shen, even though he was fighting tens of zombies at once, was still aware of his surroundings thanks to his improved senses.
'They finally left. There's no need to hold back anymore.' Thinking so, Bai Shen quickly cast a Fireball, thus eliminating over five zombies at the same time and creating a path for himself to advance.
He was going straight into the midst of the biggest zombie group that was a few hundred meters away.
His objective: to see if another Territory Token had spawned.
'I'm pretty sure that's the reason why so many zombies refused to leave the campus. It's not that they couldn't leave, but that they were being called here.'
Though, before Bai Shen could take another step forward, something on the ground caught his eyes.
'It's a Skill!' He exclaimed inwardly after seeing what it truly was.
Because he didn't have time to check what skill it was, Bai Shen took it into his Inventory for now, planning to check it out at a later time.
Swish Swish!
Being as fast as a bullet, Bai Shen managed to pass the zombies ahead of him and rushed toward the biggest group.
'Fireball.' Softly chanting his Skill name, a powerful ball of fire went into the heart of the group.
This attack also managed to cover the zombies' vision, as dust rose from the ground.
Their enhanced hearing also wasn't very helpful, as a myriad of sounds could be heard in the surroundings.
Some from zombies, some from Bai Shen as he forcefully stepped on the ground to reach his destination.
'Where is it, where is it?!' Being in a rush, Bai Shen couldn't waste any time, as he was afraid that the zombies would recover themselves and surround him.
That was the last thing he wanted right now, especially because he had also expended some of his Physique in the earlier fights.
Not to mention the few fireballs he shot before, everything was so straining, but he didn't have a choice.
Bai Shen needed to find that Territory Token and see if it had any other use besides the ones he knew.
For example, could his own Territory Token absorb the new one and receive some experience?
Or would he be forced to create another Territory, a thing that he didn't want to do.
Still slashing the zombies around him, his eyes suddenly opened wide when seeing another skill on the ground.
'There are two! Is this my lucky day or what?' Swiftly grabbing the skill, just like with the other one, he threw it inside his inventory.
Not guessing for even a second that it may have something to do with his increased Luck Attribute, Bai Shen continued his search.
Seeing that the dust in the atmosphere was close to being cleared, he released another two Fireballs to create some chaos once again.
The situation started to deteriorate, as Bai Shen could feel the strain of moving so much around and expending so much energy.
It was probably one of the first times since he tired himself, except for the first two or three days of the Apocalypse.
But it didn't take long for him to smile once more.
'Finally, I found you.' Not caring about the depleting energy in his body, Bai Shen quickly went toward a bench on the side.
Right behind the bench, there was a bush, and there, he saw something shiny... It was the Territory Token that he longed for.
With quick steps, Bai Shen retrieved the Token and turned around to make a run for it.
The zombies were already aware of what happened and started to look around for clues.
At this point, Bai Shen was covered in sweat and blood as he exited the campus, going toward the store he told Tang Yue and the others earlier.
