Chapter 32 - Chapter 31

Androw walked to the lone tower that had been given to him. He sat on his bed, grabbing his head as a headache throbbed. He knew he needed to leave Dragonstone before Jahaerays made his way there. He wasn't ready to face the King's court for slaying a dragon, which would surely lead to questions that could trap him. Rubbing his temples, he tried to find a way out of the situation.

Suddenly, he heard a knock on his door, startling him. He hesitated before opening the door, then grabbed his sword and cautiously opened it, eyeing the visitor. Standing there with a smile was Alyn. Androw drew his sword closer to Alyn's neck, suspicion clear in his eyes. Alyn raised his arms with an awkward smile, asking, "Lord Consort?"

Androw lowered his sword slightly and asked, "What do you want now?"

Alyn lowered his arms and extended a bottle toward him. "I brought it."

Androw wanted to punch Alyn in the face but restrained himself. He turned back inside, starting to pack his belongings from the shelf. "Leave," he said curtly.

Alyn sounded confused. "Lord?"

"I don't want to... kill her. So leave," Androw replied, putting down his sword and continuing to gather his things.

He didn't expect what happened next. He felt a sharp pain in his chest and heard a voice saying, "The King sends his regards." The knife stabbed again into Androw's back, making it hard for him to breathe as he fell to the ground.

Baal, sensing something had happened to Androw, started acting wildly, throwing flames and running towards the exit, but stopped halfway when it heard Androw's voice in its mind: "Don't.".

Alyn smiled, kicking Androw's motionless body as blood covered the floor. He saw a heavy pouch, opened it, and smiled greedily at the sight of gold. "Did he steal this? This dragon thief," he muttered, then got closer to Androw, saying, "Thank you."

Just as Alyn decided to leave, he heard a voice that made him turn, only to face a sword at his neck. Androw, drenched in his own blood, said, "Surprise, motherfucker." Alyn struggled as the sword went deeper before Androw drew it out and stabbed it into Alyn's chest. Alyn's eyes widened in disbelief as his vision blurred. He fell, dead.

Androw, breathing heavily, took off his blood-soaked clothes and threw them aside, picking up a fresh set. He could feel his injuries slowly healing. He cleaned his sword before walking out, calling Baal in his mind. Before leaving, he took back the pouch Alyn had taken from him and muttered, "Your whole family will join you soon, fucker," then spat on Alyn's dead face.

He walked down the tower, gripping his sword tightly as he approached the entrance, where the men were guarding. They had been expecting Alyn, but seeing Androw's blood-splattered face, they took a step back, fear evident in their eyes. None of them had ever killed a man like Androw had, and his bloodied appearance only added to their terror.

The guards raised their swords towards Androw, but he walked forward with a determined stride. None dared to act as he passed them. Suddenly, they heard Baal's roar, making their hands shake even more with fear. Androw continued down the path before anyone else could approach him to stop him.

Outside, Baal was already alert, his anger evident in his roaring. Seeing Androw covered in blood, Baal roared to the sky, which began to darken with storm clouds. The dragon nudged Androw gently, expressing sadness at seeing him in such a state. Though Baal wanted to destroy the whole castle, it controlled its rage. It slowly lay down to allow Androw to climb on.

By that time, Rhaena had reached a window in her chamber. She saw Androw climbing onto his dragon, leaving the castle. She wanted to call out to him but couldn't, extending her arms helplessly as he grew more distant with each passing second. Just then, one of the garrison men ran into her chamber, breathless. "Princess, Ser Alyn is killed."

Rhaena's eyes widened in shock. "What? How?"

"He was found dead in Lord Androw's tower. There was a confrontation," the guard stammered.

Rhaena turned her gaze back to Androw, who was now airborne with Baal, disappearing into the stormy sky.

I know many are confused. Fortunately, the MC won't die since he is quasi-immortal and won't die from just a stab unless his head is cut off or he is poisoned by magic. He needs a reality check, as his current choices aren't enough to survive. He shouldn't simply follow what he knows from his previous life. We can wait to see how the MC makes it through to the end.
