Chereads / Amukelo: The Burdened Path / Chapter 285 - Escaping Dimensions

Chapter 285 - Escaping Dimensions

The relentless battle with the dragon took a bewildering turn as the creature, seemingly dissatisfied with the lack of success in its icy realm, shifted the dimension once more. The world around Amukelo and Eliss morphed into an alien landscape, disorienting in its uniformity. Everywhere they looked, the terrain was a repetitive pattern of sharp, crystalline triangles. The crystals were a kaleidoscope of colors, reflecting light in a dizzying array of patterns.

This new dimension was an open space full of mirrored surfaces, with each direction appearing indistinguishable from the other. The ground beneath their feet felt unstable, the air around them thick with an unidentifiable energy.

Amukelo, despite the disorienting change, sensed that the different dimensions they had been taken through were interconnected. His previous efforts to weaken the dimension with his mana were not in vain. He continued to focus his energy on breaking down the barriers of the dimension, even as the battle raged on.

The crystals in this strange world were not static; they began to float, swirling around them in a mesmerizing dance. Without warning, the crystals transformed into sharp spears and launched themselves at Amukelo and Eliss with lethal intent.

Amukelo, reacting swiftly, used his swords to deflect the incoming crystal spears. However, the crystals were not so easily deterred. They changed shape again, this time forming a box around Eliss, trapping her within a prison of reflective surfaces. Eliss, attempting to use her teleportation skill to escape, found that the crystal box disrupted her ability to channel magic outside the box, rendering her ability ineffective. The worst part was that the box started shrinking, crushing Eliss inside. She could only slow the process by channeling mana between herself and the walls, to not get crushed.

Seeing that, Amukelo tried to use his swords to cut through the crystal walls. But the walls resisted his attacks, their structure altering with each strike to negate the impact of his blades.

The situation was dire. Eliss, confined within the crystal prison, struggled to keep her mana strong. Amukelo, meanwhile, realized that brute force alone would not suffice. He had to find a way to disrupt the structural integrity of the crystals, to save Eliss and escape the dimension.

He focused his mana, channeling it through his swords in an attempt to resonate with the crystals' frequency. His blades hummed with energy, a harmonious vibration that he hoped would weaken the crystalline structure.

The dragon, observing their struggles, seemed amused by their predicament. It circled around them, its massive form casting shifting shadows across the crystal landscape. It was clear that the dragon was toying with them, using the dimension as its playground to test their limits.

Amukelo and Eliss, despite the overwhelming odds, refused to give in to despair. They were fighters, survivors who had faced countless challenges and emerged stronger. This bizarre dimension, with its alien landscape and treacherous traps, was just another obstacle to overcome.

As Amukelo continued to work on breaking the crystal prison, Eliss inside used the time to gather her strength and focus her magic, looking for any weakness in her confinement. Their determination was unyielding, their spirits undimmed despite the dragon's machinations.

While focusing on freeing Eliss from her crystalline prison, he remained acutely aware of the surrounding dangers. His senses, honed through countless battles, alerted him to an imminent attack from behind. The crystals, now airborne, were hurtling towards him like missiles. With agile movements, he evaded them, but the respite was brief. Almost immediately, he detected another, more formidable threat – the dragon.

Anticipating the dragon's assault, Amukelo prepared himself. As the dragon lunged, he skillfully redirected its trajectory, using its momentum against it. He then counterattacked, his swords aiming for the dragon's neck. The impact was significant, but the dragon's scales were thick and resilient, preventing a fatal blow.

The fight continued relentlessly, with Amukelo adopting a more defensive strategy. He was not just fighting the dragon; he was also channeling his mana towards breaking the dimensional barrier. This dual focus required immense concentration and skill, balancing the demands of combat with the subtleties of mana manipulation.

Meanwhile, Eliss, still trapped within the crystal box, concentrated on keeping herself alive, trusting in Amukelo's ability to break them free from this dimension. Her eyes followed the battle, watching Amukelo's every move with a mix of concern and admiration.

As the battle wore on, the dragon began to sense that something was amiss. The stability of the dimension it had created was faltering. It turned its attention towards Amukelo, realizing that he was the source of the disturbance. But it was too late. Amukelo, sensing the weakening of the barrier, gathered all his mana and let out a thunderous yell. He thrust his swords into the targeted area of the dimension, a point he had been subtly weakening throughout the fight.

With a burst of light and energy, a hole tore open in the fabric of the dimension. The crystal dimension began to collapse around them, the once-stable structures disintegrating into fragments of light. The crystals that had entrapped Eliss vanished, freeing her from their grasp.

They found themselves back in the harsh reality of the mountain landscape, the storm raging around them, but now they were in a more advantageous position. The dragon, disoriented by the sudden collapse of its dimension, was momentarily vulnerable.

Amukelo and Eliss quickly regrouped, ready to capitalize on this opportunity. The dragon, recovering from its momentary confusion, realized that the tide of the battle had turned. It roared defiantly, a sound that echoed across the mountain peaks, but there was a hint of uncertainty in its posture.

Eliss, now free, joined Amukelo's side. They stood together, their resolve unbroken, their spirits emboldened by their successful escape from the dragon's dimensional trap. The battle had shifted in their favor, and they were prepared to press this advantage.

The storm around them howled, the wind and snow adding to the chaos of the fight. The mountain, a silent witness to their struggle, stood indifferent to the outcome. But for Amukelo and Eliss, this was a pivotal moment. They had overcome the dragon's magical realm, and now they faced the creature on more equal footing.

Their eyes locked onto the dragon, their bodies ready for the next phase of the battle. This was their chance to overcome one of the greatest challenges they had faced so far. The fight was far from over, but they were ready, their spirits buoyed by the small victory they had just achieved.
