Chapter 31 - Chapter thirty one:

The elevator came to a stop, and the doors slowly slid open, revealing a new scene before Lisa's tired eyes. Her legs wobbled beneath her weakened body as she mustered the strength to stand. A glimmer of relief flickered within her, knowing that she had reached her intended destination.

However, her respite was short-lived as she cast her gaze beyond the open elevator doors. Another set of elevator doors loomed before her, triggering a cry of frustration and exhaustion to escape her lips. Wearily, she stepped out of the first elevator, her movements slow and unsteady. The weight of her previous fall lingered in her mind, urging her to avoid a similar experience at all costs.

With a trembling hand, Lisa retrieved the same pin she had used earlier, her fingers struggling to maintain a firm grip. As she approached the new elevator, her heart fluttered with a mix of apprehension and hope. She inserted the pin into the lock mechanism, praying for a smoother and less tumultuous journey this time.

The doors of the second elevator obediently parted, granting Lisa access to its interior. She entered cautiously, yearning for a moment of respite and security. Deciding to err on the side of caution, she lay down on the elevator floor, seeking solace in the knowledge that she wouldn't be caught off guard by another sudden jolt.

The elevator doors closed, sealing Lisa within its confines. A sense of relief washed over her as the elevator commenced its movement, this time at a more steady and predictable pace. The absence of the previous alarming speed brought a measure of comfort, allowing her racing heart to gradually settle.

Lisa's mind wandered, contemplating how Justin had managed to navigate the fast-speeding elevator she had encountered earlier. Questions swirled within her, mingling with the remnants of fear and exhaustion. Yet, she remained determined to uncover the truth behind Justin's presence and the mysteries shrouding this enigmatic building.

After what felt like an eternity, the elevator finally glided to a stop. Lisa's weariness persisted, but she summoned the strength to step out onto solid ground, her body and mind grateful for the reprieve. However, her relief was short-lived as a sudden onslaught of red flashing lights illuminated the surroundings, casting an eerie, ominous glow.

Lisa's breath caught in her throat as her already pale complexion drained further, a stark contrast against the intense red lights. Anxiety coursed through her veins once more as she wondered what these lights signified. Her senses heightened, alert to any potential danger that may lie ahead, as she took two hesitant steps forward, treading into the unknown.
