Chapter 15 - Chapter fifteen:

George and his wife, Helena, sat down to discuss Justin's upcoming marriage. Excitement filled the air as they contemplated the next steps in this new chapter of their lives.

"Darling," Helena began, her voice filled with anticipation, "now that Justin has accepted Fiona's proposal, when are we meeting her parents?"

Helena's face lit up with a mischievous smile as she contemplated her secret plan. Unbeknownst to George, she had always harbored a strong dislike for Justin, her stepson. This upcoming wedding would provide the perfect opportunity to set her plan in motion.

George, oblivious to Helena's hidden agenda, replied, "Well, my dear, Fiona's father and I have already set a date. We will be meeting them the following week, starting from Monday."

Helena's smile widened as she envisioned the unfolding of her mischievous scheme. She knew this wedding could be an opportunity to disrupt Justin's happiness and assert her own desires.

Meticulously, Helena planned her actions, considering every detail of her scheme. As the days drew nearer, her heart raced with anticipation. She knew that her plan would require subtle manipulation and careful execution. With a composed demeanor, she joined George as they made their way to meet Fiona's parents.

In Justin's room, he sat on his favorite armchair, gently stroking the long, black, wavy hair of his alien pet, Janie. The rhythmic strokes brought comfort to Janie, who purred softly in response.

As the room filled with a serene atmosphere, Justin decided it was the right time to share his news with Janie. Leaning closer to her, he whispered, "Janie, I have something important to tell you. I'm getting married soon."

At the mention of marriage, Janie stirred up, her large, expressive eyes fixed on Justin's face. "I am happy for Lisa," she said, her voice filled with genuine joy.

Justin arched his eyebrows in surprise, confusion etching his features. "Why are you happy for her?" he asked, genuinely curious about Janie's unexpected reaction.

Janie gazed back at Justin, her eyes filled with innocent sincerity. "You guys are getting married, so why won't I be happy for her?" she responded, a touch of gentle reproach in her tone.

A mix of amusement and realization dawned on Justin's face. He chuckled softly, understanding the source of Janie's confusion. "Oh, Janie," he explained, a smile tugging at the corners of his lips, "I'm not getting married to Lisa. She is my personal assistant. The person I'm marrying is Fiona Paige."

Janie's large eyes widened, reflecting a hint of disappointment. She hadn't realized her earlier assumption was incorrect. Justin continued, his voice filled with enthusiasm as he described Fiona. "You can't know her, Janie, but she comes from a respectable family, and her father is the owner of J&B Company. Additionally, she is so beautiful and elegant."

Janie's disappointment was palpable, but she tried to hide it behind a polite nod. Deep down, she had grown fond of Lisa and had imagined a happy future for her and Justin. However, she understood that Justin's happiness lay with someone else.
