"My lord, the men from the orphanage have returned." Stagmore, the steward of the house of marquis Midnight Star looked everywhere but at the face of his master.
He knew it was dark like the bottom of the pot. And if he would not be cautious enough, he would get the burn too.
Harold's dazed eyes did not move from the file. His expressions were grim and dark clouds were dancing over his head.
"Send them in." Stagmore paused. He was not sure if he had heard it. Harold never took them in. Most of the time he ignores them but on rare occasions he mocks them by sending five or six silver coins.
Even a well to do commoner family would offer more than that.
"Are you going to stand there muling over my decision the whole day?" Harold asked in a slow voice without any emotion in it but his eyes had narrowed on the old man. "If that is the case, i will go myself to call them and attend to the matter first."
