He was about leaving the dungeon when he was confronted by Bayne. Luckily for him, he had covered his face with a ski mask, so his identity was unknown to Bayne.
"Halt. Show yourself." Bayne ordered, unsheathing his sword.
"How about I run instead." Derek replied with a smirk, drawing out his own sword as well.
They both engaged in a fierce battle with each other. The sound of both their swords clanking on each other filled the dungeon.
They fought for a long time, with none of them ready to yield. Bayne managed to imprint a deep cut on the arm of Derek, but that didn't stop Derek from fighting back.
After another long round of fighting back and forth, Derek realised he couldn't win against Bayne, so he swiftly picked up a handful of dust from the ground and threw it at Bayne.
The moment Bayne covered his eyes with his hand, Derek made a run for it. Derek ran as fast as he could, clutching his bleeding arm tightly.
