Elena spent the rest of the day with her parents. She was worried all throughout, and her attention was barely in any of their conversations.
"You should really consider representing our company Elena. Your father and I are way too old for such silly things." Elena's mother pleaded with Elena.
"I don't feel like going, and what do you mean by you guys are too old? It's just going to be a gala night and not an Olympics game. You don't have to do much. You can just sit and watch everything unfold. Maybe walk up to a table or two and engage some other prominent businessmen in conversations that will help boost our company's growth." Elena said, declining her mother's request.
"But you love going to such events." Selena pressed further.
"I know, but I don't feel like going to this particular one." Elena replied nonchalantly. 'And I don't want to be anywhere near Daniel Murphy.' Elena added in her mind.
