Elena kept staring at her, with her fork hanging over her plate. She cleared her throat while Kathy just kept looking at her as well.
"Well... I haven't seen with him. Why'd you ask?" Elena managed to say.
"Nothing. Just forget about it. It's just that he has been acting strange lately, or maybe I'm just going insane." Kathy chuckled awkwardly.
"I don't know what you're talking about." Elenea shrugged as she continued eating. The atmosphere was now filled with an awkward silence, and it remained that way till the end of their lunch.
They went their separate ways afterwards. The moment Elena got into her car, her phone rang, and her heart skipped a beat when she read the caller ID.
"Hi." She greeted Daniel.
"Uhmm... Hi. Are you avoiding me?" Daniel asked immediately.
"N... no... Why would you think I'm avoiding you?"
"Cause you've not been taking my calls." Daniel stated.
"I've just been busy with some things." Elena lied.
