Chapter 33 - You cannot escape fate

{Another person who wants to hurt Blaze. Is he going to get hurt again... because of me? Do I have to watch helplessly again as he puts his life on the line, for my sake?}

{No..no, I don't want it to be like that. I want to be able to protect him too...! I want to...}

As Frore's mild was slowly getting muddled from having these thoughts, a dark black aura started to slowly seep out of him. That aura surrounded him and Frore instinctively raised his hand in a semi-conscious state.

At that moment, dark black spikes grew out from the shadows which gradually thickened and increased their lengths; turning into thick black vines.

These 'vines' wrapped themselves around the soldiers' bodies and a spear that was aimed at Frore's neck stopped in mid - air. All the puppets were tightly bound by the vines and were unable to move.

The dark mage who was watching this scene from behind the barrier was shocked.

"What?! How the hell...? Don't tell me...he awakened an elemental during the fight? SH*T!! "

They supplied more mana to the soldiers, but it was no use. Frore's elemental was just too powerful. The soldiers couldn't get rid of the vines coiled around them.

The dark mage was too focused on the fight in front of them, that they forgot one important fact: the shadows exists inside the barrier too!

The vines inside the barrier wrapped around their ankle and slowly crawled up to their neck, strangeling them.

No matter how hard they struggled, which spells they used, it was all useless. In the end, they lost control over their mana and the soldiers dispersed into thin particles, the barrier was lifted and they could only grab the vines with shaking hands.

Having accepted their defeat and impending death, they squeezed out their final words with all the energy that was left in their body, "Hehehehe ..." They laughed maniacally and then continued, "you can kill 'me', "child of the apocalypse" but ...you can not..escape fate! Neither can... that boy, a person who gets .. attached to you...is destined to die..! "

Their tears and saliva dripped onto the floor.

Frore emotionlessly replied to these words in a cold voice, with half-lidded eyes in a semi-conscious state, "Nobody can ever think about hurting my Blaze. Be it fate or whatever it may be, I will take down anyone or anything that tries to even touch a hair on his head."

Then, Frore closed the palm of his outstretched hand and the mage's neck twisted in an unnatural direction with a loud *crack* sound, their head hund down lifeless. Then, the vines retreated back to the shadows and the mage's dead body hit the ground with a *thud*.

Frore who had many injuries and was exhausted from the fight and the overuse of his powers, was breathing heavily and closed his half - lidded eyes. He lost consciousness and fell on the ground.

----

At the entrance of the underground tunnel.

Blaze was standing on a pile of human sized golems. There were similar piles of golems to his left and right.

He knew how to locate the golem's core, so dealing with them wasn't difficult. The only issue was ...

"Tsk. Just how many of these things did they prepare?"

The endless amount of golems, that kept Blaze from venturing inside the tunnel.

The ground shook violently just as Blaze had let out that comment.

A group of about 15 golems were running towards him from the inside the tunnel.

Blaze sighed, " Here we go again..."

It took him about ten minutes to deal with the remaining golems and the other traps that were laid for him inside the tunnel. When he reached the end of the underground tunnel, the scene before his eyes could be described as this.

A bloody Frore was lying on the ground with Kaiser beside him. Various types of weapons were stabbed in the ground, on the walls and the cieling. The dark mage's body was lying motionlessly in a corner on the ground. There were clear signs that an intense battle had occurred at that place.

Blaze's face turned pale and he forgot to breathe for a moment. He speed blitzed to where Frore was and knelt down on the ground beside him.

He carefully turned him over and place his index finger underneath Frore's nostrils to check for his breath. When he discovered that Frore's breathing was steady, only then did he sighed from relief.

*Phew* "... thank goodness, he only seems to have lost consciousness."

Blaze gently and carefully place Frore's head on his lap, he placed his palm on his forehead and used "heal".

The bleeding from Frore's wounds stopped almost instantly and all of his cuts and bruises were healed without leaving a trace.

Frore's clothes were finished fixing themselves up too.

The hunter's clothes that Blaze and Frore had bought from the mall were made from special fabric, so whenever they were torn or cut; the clothes would mend themselves. Of course, it couldn't mend itself if a part of the cloth was gone. For example, if someone's sleeve was blown off, a new sleeve could not be magically produced. The time period required for this 'maintainence' could range from minutes to hours. But, nevertheless it was very useful for professional hunters like them.

Frore had still not woken up, so Blaze fed him some mana and health potions and patiently waited for him to wake up.

After a few minutes, Frore slowly opened his eyes. The first thing that came into his view, after his slightly blurry vision focused was Blaze's worried face.

"How are you feel---"

Before Blaze could finish asking his question, Frore had gotten up from his lap, wrapped his arms around him and tightly hugged him.

Blaze was slightly shocked for a moment, but quickly returned the hug. With one hand on his back and the other on the back of Frore's head he apologized.

"I am sorry, I was late."
