"You've been fed nothing but lies, my dear. Your mother's lies. She's convinced you that the world is against her." Fairy Godmother's voice dropped with disappointment.
Mirror, undeterred, shot back, "And what about you, fairy godmother?" Mirror, undeterred, shot back. "You claim to be the epitome of good, but you meddle in the affairs of others, forcing them to play your diseased game."
"I've used my powers to right wrongs and to protect those who cannot protect themselves." Her eyes flashed with rage. "Your mother's tyranny has wreaked havoc on this kingdom for far too long."
"Right wrongs? Protect the innocent." Mirror scoffed, with a smirk on her face. "You both wear masks, Fairy Godmother, and I am sure yours isn't any better."
"My mother may have been a ruthless and cruel being, but at least she never hid behind her lies." Mirror sighed. She could feel a heavy weight lifting from her chest. After all these years, she finally understands her mother. She was never evil; they made her that way. They made her into the monster she became—the monster she dreaded all her life.
