One time, when the parents were out, they left their young daughter with her beloved dog at home. The girl obeyed her parents and locked all the windows in the house, except for one small window that she couldn't close. Although she felt a bit uneasy, she didn't pay much attention to it because the window was small, and she had her loyal dog by her side.
She slept through the night until she was awakened by the sound of dripping water in the middle of the night. Lacking the courage to investigate, she reached her hand under the bed, letting her dog lick it as a way to comfort herself. Once she felt more at ease, she drifted back to sleep.
The next morning, the girl woke up to a horrifying sight: her dog was hanging from the ceiling with its throat slit. The dripping sound of water in the middle of the night was, in fact, the sound of her dog's blood dripping onto the floor. Under the bed, she found a small note that read: "People, too, can lick things, you know."
