On this particular night, Qiutie couldn't sleep, so he went to the balcony of his home to smoke. He was the chairman of a company.
He lived on the 11th floor. By now, it was past midnight, and the windows of all the neighboring apartments were shrouded in darkness, except for one window on the 11th floor of the building opposite his. Through the sheer curtains, Qiutie could see inside the room.
Before long, Qiutie noticed a beautiful woman, wrapped in a towel, emerging from the bathroom. He could see her every move but couldn't hear a sound.
After a while, a man stealthily slipped out from behind the door, brandishing a gleaming knife. The woman seemed unaware of this uninvited guest's presence, as she continued drying her hair.
The man moved quietly to stand behind the woman and suddenly raised the knife, aiming it at her neck. The woman collapsed limply to the floor.
A murder!
Qiutie swiftly turned around, rushed back into his bedroom, and called the police.
The police arrived quickly, stormed into the room across from Qiutie's, only to find no one living there, and no traces of a murder. They thought Qiutie must have been dreaming.
Qiutie was left dumbfounded and spent the entire next day in a daze. He couldn't make sense of what he had witnessed.
That night, he couldn't sleep again. He walked back to the balcony and glanced at the building across from his, and to his horror, the light in the empty room was on once more.
He stared intently into the room and soon saw the same beautiful woman, wrapped in a towel, emerging from the bathroom—she was the same woman who had been killed the night before.
Qiutie felt a chill run down his spine.
After a moment, the same ruthless man appeared again, stealthily emerging from the door and sneaking up behind the woman. He raised his knife and swiftly slashed at the woman's neck, causing her to collapse just like the previous night. It was an identical replay of the horrifying scene.
Qiutie retreated to his room, his heart pounding madly. This time, he decided not to report it. He realized that the terrifying scene taking place in the room across from his had nothing to do with a criminal case.
And so, another day passed.
In the dead of night, Qiutie returned to the balcony and looked across again. Once more, he saw the same beautiful woman, who had just finished showering and walked out from the bathroom.
Was it all just an illusion?
Qiutie suddenly grew angry, left his apartment, and went to the building opposite. He took the elevator to the 11th floor, walked to the door of that particular room, and found it ajar. He pushed it open, revealing the illuminated room inside. He carefully stepped inside.
However, a sharp knife was swiftly pressed against his throat.
This marked the beginning of a meticulously planned kidnapping.
