Chapter 78 - The Long-Haired Passenger on the Haunted Bus

Li Li had a lustrous, long black hair that cascaded down to her waist, making her the center of attention among the male students who eagerly pursued her. However, Li Li was quite arrogant and declined all suitors.

There was a guy named Xiao Feng who also pursued her, but after facing rejection, he began spreading malicious rumors about Li Li behind her back. These words eventually reached Li Li's ears, making her quite angry.

One evening, after leaving the laboratory well past 9 PM, Li Li decided to treat herself by visiting a small restaurant two bus stops away from the university campus. She had been working on lab reports for several consecutive days, and exhaustion had taken its toll.

She boarded the bus, inserted her fare, and settled into her seat, feeling quite drowsy. Li Li leaned back, her long hair hanging straight down to her knees.

When the bus stopped at a station and the front doors opened, a young couple got on. The girl let out a gasp and shrieked as she boarded the bus, saying in a high-pitched voice to her boyfriend, "Look at that girl with the long hair; she looks just like Sadako from 'The Ring'!" Her boyfriend chimed in with his agreement.

Li Li, displeased, slightly opened her eyes and, using her peripheral vision, saw that it was Xiao Feng and his new girlfriend. Enraged, she hatched a plan.

Li Li turned her head ever so slowly and, in an eerie tone, she murmured to Xiao Feng, "Can you... see me?"

With a blood-curdling scream, Xiao Feng and his girlfriend scrambled to get off the bus, running in a panic. Laughter erupted among the other passengers on the bus. One of them, grinning from ear to ear, said to Li Li, "Haha, good thing I saw you insert your fare."

Still angry, Li Li turned her head once more and, in a chilling voice, asked, "Can you... be certain... that it's not ghost money..."

With that statement, there was a resounding "thud." The driver had hastily opened the doors and fled from the bus.
