Her blanket covered her face, and Anya was dead asleep on her bed. She was wearing comfortable clothes. Ajin wondered. "who changed her clothes?" raising an eyebrow towards Tul.
"I didn't," he simply replied, holding the tray of sandwiches and hanging juice carelessly in his hand.
"Then who? No one was with us last night!" Ajin accused Tul.
"I just kept a hoodie and sweatpants on her, but she's still wearing the clothes of last night inside," Tul replied, annoyed.
"huh... I bet it made her even more uncomfortable."
"Like you care," Tul mumbled.
"Of course, I care. I'm her boyfriend, plus her assistant." He busted.
"Okay, okay." Tul waved his hand but looked even more annoyed.
"Okay, so who's gonna wake her up? She looks half dead," Ajin said, looking hopefully towards Tul.
He scoffed, "Ahh, you're her boyfriend!!, plus her bodyguard', you go and wake her up." Tul taunted back.
Ajin scowled and then proceeded toward Anya's bed. He carefully got a hold of the blanket that was covering Anya's face and slowly pulled it.
As soon as he lifted the blanket, it released a very awake and smiling Anya.
"What? You were awake? Why didn't you say anything earlier?"
"I loved how you two were fighting for me." She made an effort to get up but instead, she held her hand on her head.
"Ahh, my head hurts. I think I drank too much last night."
"You think," Ajin said, smiling.
"Here" Tul proceeded towards her with the hangover juice in his other hand.
"Ooh, you're my hero Saraw- Tul" she corrected herself, looking at Tul.... scared.
Tul looked at her with the same expression. They exchanged a look, then looked at Ajin with a weird expression.
"Is there something I'm missing?" Ajin asked suspiciously, looking forth between them.
And then he realized he was currently on a mission. Time with Anya has been so good that he almost forgot about the mission and this could be a new lead!
"No", they said in unison. Anya giggled nervously. Ajin gave both of them a weird look.
"Are you sure?" He indicated that towards Anya.
"Yeah!" she said enthusiastically.
She gulped her juice in one g and then signed. "Now it feels good."
"Umm, oh I see you have met Tul now, but let me do the introduction again, Ajin this is Tul." She indicated her hand her hand in Tul's direction.
"And Tul, this is Ajin."
"Care to explain more like why there is a person who lives in your house and you didn't even care to inform your boyfriend? Huh."
"Hey!" Tul said in an authoritative voice. "you can't shout at her. It's her wish if she wants to tell you or not." Ajin was taken aback. He realized he had done something wrong. It must be because of the reminder of the mission.
"I... I'm sorry- I didn't mean to..."
"It's okay Ajin, I will tell you everything once I'm fresh. I'll meet you guys downstairs," she concluded, and both Ajin and Tul knew it was their queue.
Anya took almost half an hour to get ready and came downstairs. She was wearing casual clothes right now. She was just 'Anya', not 'actress Anya'. Ajin had not seen her like this before. Soft and cute, his heart supplied.
Tul was sitting with Ajin at the table. Tul was bent on reading his book. His hair was tied in a half ponytail. but flicks from his hair were falling.
Anya sat on the chair opposite Ajin. Ajin kept his phone down to face her and Tul kept his book down, too. To be honest, he wasn't reading but stealing glances in Ajin's direction.
"Did the workers not come today?" Anya wondered. Looking around.
"No, the kitchen maid is here," Tul replied.
"Oh! Maki, can you get us something to eat?" Anya shouted towards the kitchen.
"Right away, Madam," Maki replied.
"I'm really hungry. I ate the sandwiches then too. Oh, right!" she cleared her throat. "So Ajin, about Tul, let me tell you from the start. Tul has been my best friend since we were in elementary school. He had been living with his father as his mother died when he was little." Anya turned towards Tul with a questioning look, but he just smiled and nodded her head to continue.
"His father also died when he was 15. Also, my parents were dead too, so we started to live together ever since my matron took custody of him." She concluded.
Ajin didn't have any words to say. He opened his mouth a couple of times, but no sound came out. These two were just kids. Their story didn't have to be that tragic. "I'm sorry for your loss, and I'm sorry for being rude to you earlier." He finally said, and he meant it from the bottom of his heart.
"Don't be. It wasn't your fault. You didn't know back then." Said Tul.
"Then, too," he started, but Maki was already at the table with a tray of food in her hand. She was a bit old. She gave a questionable look to ajin and then turned to Anya.
"Oh, Ajin say hi, she's Maki, she has been my caretaker since I was a kid."
Ajin smiled at her, she smiled back."Enjoy your food." She said and left them alone.
She had made noodles with cheese salad and other side dishes with it. They started to eat, and after some time Ajin asked, "Tul, what do you do for work."
This question took him by surprise; he looked at Anya for help.
"Um... actually, he..." she started. "I'm unemployed" Tul concluded.
"What! You're telling me you freeload on Anya's income, Are you serious!?"
"No- it's not like that Ajin, he... he has some problem. With working I mean." Anya explained.
"He seems pretty fit to me," He turned to Tul "You just sit here and make yourself look pretty."
Blush crept over Tul's face. It was as if he was trying very hard not to smile.
"I tried to, you know... work" Tul tried to say. "Actually I was Anya's assistant before you."
"Huh?!? Oh... then why did you run away?" Tul looked away as if he was embarrassed about something.
"Actually there was an accident on the set," Anya said in between their conversation.
She was quick to change the topic after that.
"Ajin! Look at the time we have to reach on the set soon."
"oh... okay but first I have to drop by my house to change from these." He indicated that towards the clothes he was wearing of Tul.
He grabbed his clothes and keys and left.
He left for Gorya's cafe.
