Chapter 80 - Alchemy

With the effects of the strength-enhancing drug, Alex's skin turned red due to the sudden stimulation of his bloodstream.

As a result, his wounds began to bleed more profusely. It truly seemed like he would bleed out and die, but suddenly, his wounds began to stop bleeding.

Scar, witnessing this, couldn't believe his eyes.

"Hey! What did you do?!" Scar asked, shocked and incredulous.

"I leveled the playing field. Sorry, but I made some modifications to your drug. I had little time to test it, so I only found out if it would work now. Luckily, it did—otherwise, I'd be dead by now."

Learning about the drug's effects and side effects, Alex had the idea of mixing it with one of his own poisons. It was a paralytic and coagulant poison that made the blood denser, causing difficulty in movement. Similar to stone powder, the primary difference was that its effects were weaker, making it not very practical. Still, Alex carried it with him, and today was the day it proved useful.

"Hahaha, enough talk—let's fight! Haaa!"

This time, Alex initiated the attack. Now, his strength was closer to Scar's. While Scar was still stronger, Alex could now match him.

With his mastery and newfound strength, Alex began to pressure Scar for the first time since the battle began. As the fight unfolded, the momentum tilted toward Alex. Though Scar remained a formidable fighter, Alex's deeper knowledge and enhanced strength made the combat far more challenging for his opponent.

Damn it, this guy managed to circumvent the flaws of that strength drug. Even though I know how to improve it, I couldn't find an effective sedative to balance it. I should've killed those old fools who stole from me back then. After that, all I found was failure. My original plan might not work, but if he thinks this temporary strength is enough to defeat me, he's gravely mistaken. I'll show him what real power is!

"I must congratulate you for modifying a drug created by a former chemist like me, but that strength has a time limit. When it fades, it will be your end, Alex!" Scar declared.

"Oh, so you were a chemist? I was an engineer. I also studied history and other things. We could've talked more about these subjects if not for your scheming. While I haven't fully figured out your plans, I know they wouldn't end well for me, Scar," Alex replied
