After creating both the spear and the dagger, I hid them under a tree, digging about one to two meters deep. Then, I released and stored them. When I saw that no one was watching me, I decided to leave.
Upon returning to the troop, I noticed that no one had missed me. This is a good thing, as it means I don't have to be accountable or try to justify or appear any different. It seems to be normal for some monkeys to leave the troop to venture and then return later.
It's been another week since I created the spear and the dagger. I used this time to explore the forest and gain a better understanding of its topography. I've been figuring out paths and routes that I can use in case I need to escape to somewhere.
After gaining a better understanding of the forest and the environment I'm in, I created routes toward the savannah or places where I can hide.
During this week, I also took the opportunity to create more weapons, both the spear and the dagger, but I also made axes. As the week went on, I got more accustomed to it. Despite creating an excellent one at first, the second and third ones, and the fourth, were better. So, I ended up getting used to it, which resulted in an improvement in the weapons, which is a good thing for me.
Yawning, it seemed like just another day in a primitive world where there's no electricity, planes, cars, boats, refrigerators, stoves, or even a toilet, let alone privacy. It feels like just another day when suddenly...
A roar. I had heard that roar before. That Panther... it's back! Suddenly, all was peaceful, now turned into utter chaos. All the monkeys climbed the trees, but some were unlucky and didn't run in time. So... One less. The Panther got one. Then, I had an idea. Sooner or later, I'll be banished or cast with the lowest of the troop. So, I had an idea. It's time for my first hunt here.
While everyone was in a panic, I used my agility to leap between the trees to where my belongings were. In case of an emergency, I always kept a weapon that was easier to grab, which this time was a spear and a dagger. I slung the spear on my back and placed the dagger at my waist.
While the Panther held that monkey in its jaws, I seized the opportunity while it was distracted. Emerging with its prey, I raised my spear, using all the strength I had. With the spontaneous speed, probably, if I were to compare it to a human, I would have the strength of a very well-trained boxer. Because of that, even without much training or any strength training, I am really strong. So, using all that strength, I aimed and...
missed terribly.
It passed just by the Panther. It got startled, dropped the monkey, and looked in my direction, locking eyes with me. And I only knew one thing.
Oh, crap.
When I saw that I had missed the spear, panic set in. But I quickly regained my composure. I breathed in, then out, and in again. I locked eyes with the Panther and decided to jump down from the tree. On the ground, face to face. I knew that if she gave me a paw swipe, I'd be done for. But I stared at that Panther.
When she attacked me, I dodged to the left, and she missed. I took that moment to grab my spear. As I was about to pick it up, I heard her behind me.
I crouched.
Even though I had evaded in time, the Panther's claws grazed my right arm, causing an injury. I thought, maybe I rushed this. Despite the wounded arm, I used my left arm to pick up the spear. And when she came to attack me again, I turned the spear upwards...
The spear... went through the Panther!
Due to its weight, it ended up falling on top of me.
A silence fell. The monkeys up in the trees stared, locked eyes, until a brave one, none other than my mother, descended from the tree and began to walk toward us. Everyone stopped and watched, waiting for a reaction. What all the monkeys could see was how the Panther started to move. Then panic set in, my mother started to retreat, until I pushed the Panther to the side and stood up with the spear in my hand. Looking at everyone, they stared at me, unbelieving. I decided to raise the spear high and shout.
ROAR!!!!
At that moment, all the monkeys began to scream in unison with me.
