After wandering endlessly in the woods for a few minutes, Safiya finally breathed a sigh of relief as she stumbled upon a house nestled in the forest.
It appeared abandoned, and if it weren't for the fire burning in front of the house, she would have thought no one lived here. Dragging her feet, she approached the hut, where the fire cast a golden glow on the surroundings.
Safiya led her horse and tied it to a tree, patting its back. The horse snorted, clearly unhappy about being tied up, but Safiya soothed its back until it relaxed.
She eyes scanned the area, but she found no one around. She debated whether to knock, but ultimately she moved forward, reasoning that she had come this far already.
She knocked and waited, but no one answered. Knocking again, she was met with the same silence. Was there really no one here?
