She stood outside the palace gate, gazing at the guards and the sturdy fence. How long had she been here? It had been so long that she almost couldn't remember what it was like.
She had accompanied her husband to the palace on many occasions when he had been invited and had wanted her to come. Reluctantly, she had attended, even though she did not like gatherings and crowds, something her husband greatly enjoyed.
She sighed and walked up to the guards who raised their brows at her.
"I need to meet with the king," her voice was stern and so was the look on her face.
One of the guards, the shortest one with short dreadlocks, said, "Go home, woman. The king doesn't meet anyone by this time."
Woman? Mama scoffed, took a deep breath, and glared at the man, "Tell the king that Tate, the wife of the head warrior, would like to speak to him."
