The sound of the drum, "dum dum," awakened the people of Azu. It was time; a new king would be crowned, and it was a day to celebrate and welcome the new ruler.
As birds chirped outside windows, adding melody to the drum sound, the people began to wake up one by one to witness the great day. Children ran ahead of parents to the village square where the event would take place, eager to be the first to watch.
As they neared, they heard sweet voices singing at the top of their lungs. Women danced in a circle, their hips swaying, sweat glistening on their skin in the early morning sun, creating a shimmering sight to behold.
As they danced, stamping their feet and moving to the beat, the crowd cheered, and some young men whistled at the beautiful dancers, eliciting laughter from everyone. It was normal to admire and flirt while they danced.
The crowd joined in with the singers, chanting,
"Aiye, Aiye
Ye, Ye
Aiye, Aiye
Ye, Ye",
