Adira laid like a lifeless body on the clinic bed.
The nurses had stabilized her vitals, and now all she did was lie helplessly.
She was unconscious and had been placed on the monitor.
Ethan watched closely. He was a man that hardly got surprised by anything, but in Adira's case, he had gotten surprised in every step of her journey.
It was as if the more they tried to understand her, the more complicated things got.
"What exactly is the problem now?"
He turned to ask the doctor who had just finished examining her.
"I think it's her first shift. She's trying to shift, but it's strange how she's not doing it like everyone else."
The doctor replied.
"And why on earth is her own shifting different?"
Ethan asked impatiently, battling whether to get pissed by Adira's constant trouble or feel pity for her for the pains she was passing through.
"I still maintain we found her necklace, just like the diviner said."
