He lifted Adira from the spot and quickly moved her to the room he was ushered into. Then he proceeded to lay her gently on the floor.
It was about 7:30pm. He felt it was close to the time the maids retired, and this made him restless and worried.
"People would really be looking for Adira."
He thought.
Chris startled when a soft knock landed on the door. He wasn't expecting to see anyone yet. He rolled the sleeves of his shirt, gasping as much air as possible. Swiftly, he pulled Adira's unconscious body towards the back of the door, and concealing it as much as possible, he opened the door.
"Kindly come to the dining room for your dinner, my lord. " One of the maids sounded. She bowed her head immediately and left.
Chris could easily recognize she was a maid like Adira, he knew they would be looking for her. He nodded emphatically to the maid and shut the door immediately.
He let out a heavy breath, his eyes scanning the room as if he was in search of something. He had become confused, and didn't know what to do. He reached for his coat which was in the wardrobe, and pulled out a moonstone in it.
He wanted to heal his wounds first, and when he placed the stone on his palm, he noticed how quickly it repelled from his palm. This startled him. He had never seen a thing like this.
His pack, the Cima Pack has a special moon stone which performed special effects, but seeing it repel from the wound caused by Adira's necklace gave him a course to worry about.
He dropped the moonstone on the floor and began to observe Adira again. He wanted to touch her necklace so bad, but he was scared he would be burnt severely again.
He looked closely at her. He could see that her fingernails were beginning to go back to normal, so he suspected she would wake up soon.
Lycan Chris startled when another knock landed on the door. He took in a deep breath in an attempt to calm down, then proceeded to the door.
"Who's there?"
He asked in a strong baritone voice.
"I've come to check if you're still alive."
Alpha Ethan sounded at the other end.
"Of course I am."
Chris said jokingly, while trying so hard not to sound anxious.
"I'll join you guys in a jiffy. "
There was a brief silence. Ethan was smart enough to notice the fear in his voice. He decided to know what was going on.
"Can I come in?"
"No...No,no...I mean, I'm almost done, I'll be in the dinning shortly.
Chris stammered.
Out of reflex, he placed his dorsum on Adira's neck, her body was so cold. He didn't know what to do with her or how to wake her up.
"Let me just wait for you here then."
Ethan sounded again, interrupting Chris's thoughts.
"No...you shouldn't."
Chris dropped the moonstone back to his coat pocket. He picked up a white robe and slid in his hands. He picked up a cologne and rubbed some parts of his limbs. He dropped it and left the room immediately.
"Woah!...you scared me."
He shouted, on seeing Ethan who stood outside waiting for him.
"It's my job to look out for my guests."
Ethan sounded, displaying a warm smile.
"Then, let's go to the dining room."
Chris replied. His voice was cold and distant. His instincts were already telling him Ethan was suspecting something.
The two men got to the dining room. They were halfway in their meal when Lycan Chris excused himself. He rushed back into his room and met Adira half awake. Her eyelashes fluttered slowly at the command of the wind.
Chris was in distress, he knew his plans would change once Adira woke up, so he decided to tie her up before she woke up.
He went to his bag and pulled out one of the slave chains he brought with him for the slave auction ceremony.
It was a normal routine in the pack to go to a slave auction ceremony with slave chains, for the slaves one would purchase.
These wolves mostly purchased slaves to subdue them to great pains. They derived pleasure in doing this. Sometimes, they make the slaves play hide and seek, giving them the permission to kill each other, whenever one is found. This was a way of fishing out the strongest of the slaves.
Most times only about ten slaves would be chosen to work for the pack, out of hundreds each werewolf buys.
Mostly, it is the Lycans and Alphas that buy hundreds of slaves, because they are mostly the richest. The other wolves would buy just a few they could afford.
He moved to where Adira was lying and began to chain her limbs. He chained her both hands and legs, and in a matter of seconds he was done. He noticed she was not yet fully awake so it was easy for him.
He rolled her into one of the wardrobes and shut the door. He dusted off his body, even though there was no dust in it. This was a way of him keeping calm. He picked up the Versace cologne he used initially and sprayed it on his body.
"You got this..."
He said, motioning his words as he locked the room.
Ethan stood outside the room waiting for him to come out. He was already losing his patience. He noticed Adira had gone missing, but he didn't want to point fingers at his guest. But he was worried, and was losing his patience.
"Have you seen Adira?"
Ethan asked, concerned.
"Who's Adira?"
Chris asked in reply, trying so hard to feign ignorance.
"The maid you wanted to buy."
"I dismissed her a long time ago."
Chris said, maintaining a straight face.
"I'm so famished right now, let's continue our dinner."
He continued.
Ethan stared in confusion.
He wished he could rush into his room, and have a check, but that would be disrespectful to his guest. So he resolved to alert the guards to make sure Adira is found.
