The figure, standing atop the tall ship's cabin and hugging its edge, was shaped by the harsh sea breeze.
It looked like a person crouched there, but it was clearly not human.
While it had two very thick legs, it also sported a pair of black iron wings that, when spread, measured four to five meters long.
The wings really did resemble those forged from black steel, cold and unyielding.
At the tips were densely packed objects akin to spears, gleaming with a fierce, cutting light.
One could well imagine that a mere graze from it would mean skins flayed and flesh lacerated!
Even bones would be shattered.
On either side of its upper body were three extraordinarily thick arms, each about the size of an adult man's thigh.
At their ends were not fingers or toes but three long claws, equally sharp and slightly curved, like iron hooks.
The most terrifying aspect was its bat-like head, with a pair of keen eyes that seemed to radiate the glow of death.
