Chapter 5 - Mission At Stake

 "Hi, I'm Liam "

He stared dumbstruck at the man before taking his hand and helping himself up.

"Taylor, Taylor Lopez" he shook hands with him, still staring at him in awe

Liam smiled, "I know"

"How?" He asked in out most confusion.

"I'm your partner" He said, smiling

"I didn't know we were allowed partners"Taylor scratched his head confused

Liam smiled and continued

"Well we are, once you complete your first five saves you get to see your partner's name and where you can find them"

"So that's how you found me?"

"Yeah"

"Hmmm, impressive" He began walking

"So where do we go now?, I'm still looking for my first quest"

Liam said nothing

"Where do I have to go to find it?"

Liam sighed and forced a smile, it seemed his personality had changed in like 1.2secs, but he waved that away and continued

"Tell me, you seem to know your way around here. Come on tell me" He grabbed him by the shoulders, and he sharply turned around.

"Get your hands off me" he growled

"Liam?" He muttered quietly wondering what happened to the nice man that just saved him, but before he could process any other thing he was sent flying meters away from the strange man.

"I'm not Liam!, and I said get your hands off nicely!"

He groaned in pain as his shoulder felt dislocated, he stared at the man in fear and swallowed. As if coming to his senses, Liam rushed towards him, but he backed off quickly, fear engulfing him.

"Sorry about that, that was my brother Rufus"

Taylor blinked surprised"What?"

Liam sighed

" I'm not human actually, I'm an elf, but I'm different from my people. You see, my mother was pregnant with twins

Rufus and me but for some reason she gave birth to one child. It turns out we were both inside my body, but we both had different minds and thoughts.

Yes, it's strange, I know, but I've learned to live with it, I let him come out sometimes other times he just forces his way out, sorry about that, Are you okay?"

A dumbfounded Taylor nodded and lifted himself off the ground

"Where do we go from here then?"

Liam wasn't paying attention, he seemed to be communicating with his system, after a few minutes, he spoke up

"I just located or other partner, she's at the farthest end of the Coven Mountains by Villon Reach. Would take about 30 minutes to go there by land but 10 by flight"

"Now hold on a bit, how many of us are there in a team?" Taylor asked.

"There are 5 of us, and we need to find the remaining 3 on time to find our ultimate quest. Now hurry,we can't travel by flight right now. It looks like a storm's coming, so we have to catch the next coach going up the mountains" Liam replied, dragging him along.

They walked and walked, making sure they weren't sighted by the villagers since they were both rogues, at intervals they broke into semi runs until they reached the clear part of the village where coaches travelled by.

Taylor inspected the surroundings, they looked much better than the part he had run away from. While they were on it, he asked his system about Ultimate Quests.

[Ultimate Quests are much more profiting, the members of a guild get twice as much Exp than a solo fighter gets.

The guild members have to be in the same class to be able to partake in an ultimate quest, in other words, ultimate quests are much more dangerous than normal saves, but a united guild can pull it off so far the leader is responsible and mature]

He was still processing the info when Liam husked something at him, and he caught it. It was a cloak.

"These people can smell rogues, so we have to stay protected and careful

I put a spell on the cloaks, it would help us get by undetected.''

Taylor smiled, "That's genius!" .

The two cloaked young men mixed with the people while finding their way to a coach, along the streets were fish steak shops belonging to an old cranky Kenku

"Just buy one at least "she persuaded her customer, but the man seemed to be more interested in making negotiations which annoyed the lady

"Well that's too cheap for an expensive looking man like you, carry on! I'll never sell my fishes that cheap.

Do you know how hard it is to find fish in the cloven creek these days?

Hmph, I'll rather not sell a whole day than to disrespect my valuable fish!''

Taylor walked by the fish shop drooling at the sweet looking 'valuable fishes' in the lady's stall, He almost thought of buying one but then remembered he didn't have money, and he didn't even know what sort of money they used here. He snapped out of it and remembered he had a mission.

He looked forward but couldn't see Liam anymore, out of fear of being lost in the midst of all these strange beings he was beginning to get used to slowly he looked around frantically and began panicking.

"Taylor!" Liam called out to him, and he followed the direction of the voice and saw him standing next to a loaded coach with the coachman next to him.

He breathed a sigh of relief and walked over to them.

"I found a coach, he agreed to ride us for so little. Behave yourself, okay? And don't stare, they hate it". He tapped him on the shoulder lightly and they both boarded the coach. Inside the coach were three other passengers, A female carrying her baby and a male who looked important with his politicians hat, the other passenger was rather odd-looking. It had the head of a dinosaur but the body of a man, he found this weird and ran a check on him.

[Name :Unigar Salazar]

[Race: Saurian]

[Class: Ranger]

[Type :Mighty Dino]

"Woah, that's incredible". He gasped in awe.

All this while, without thought, he had been scrutinizing the man, and he didn't look happy at all and finally spoke up in a harsh tone.

"What are ye starin' at, lad?"

He flinched and apologized, feeling intimidated in every manner. The rest of the ride was bumpy and long, Taylor was worn out and eventually fell asleep on Liam's shoulder, who didn't complain until they reached their stop. Then he tapped Taylor and said, "Get up, we're here"

A confused Taylor opened his eyes, still confused from his sleep, he alighted the coach and began walking while rubbing his eyes with his fists. He drowsily bumped into an unnoticed cloaked figure and they fell.He froze, realizing himself instantly.
