Chapter 25 - Guardian

The guardian spirit of this cultivation plane was at the Survivor Lord realm. His existance in this plane could not be sensed or perceived by anything even if it was the Survivor Overlord who had decided to seek him, this was because in this plane, he was like a God. All beings in this plane must bow before him. A plane like the undead cultivation plane was not a lower cultivation plane like most of the cultivation planes. A place that could nurture even Lords should not be trifled with.

Moreover, this Lord just like this place, he was an entity from the ancient. No one had ever known how he looked like because when he appeared anywhere, he usually takes on different appearance. He can be a demon, a giant, a safari and et catera.

From where the guardian spirit was, his hollow eyes flickered and the scene of what was happening where Lazy Wafula was reflected on his eye sockets like a mirror.

"Interesting..." The Lord only said those words and snapped his fingers bringing forth a dark wisp of energy. Knowing what he wanted, the wisp broke space that even no one in this plane can brake and appeared at the same time where Lazy Wafula was. After the Lord saw that the wisp had reached its destination, he went back to his slumber, the fight at that scene was like a fight between ants in his eyes and he was not interested in it. The only thing that interested him was the air of dark divinity coming from Lazy Wafula.

That was the very air that propelled the constitution of this Lord. Back then during the ancient times, there were many cultivators with this air of darkness divinity in them, some were as weak as mortal realm experts while others were so strong probably even at the stage above the Survivor realm.

With just their thought, the abyss was sundered and the gods were severed. But those people were nowhere to be seen nowadays, maybe they are slumbering like him or they were eliminated in the Survival dimension, who knows? Maybe they died of other circumstances that he didn't knew of. After all, death is inevitable. Before they migrated from this dimension to the top leveled dimension, death was certain for them.

The wisp entered into Lazy Wafula's forehead which made the survival mark to gleam. Lazy Wafula didn't knew what was happening in the background because he was too preoccupied by the beast in front of him.

"Beep"

"Unknown soul has invaded your soul space."

"The unknown soul enhancing the dark attribute."

"Dark attribute amplified by 50%"

[ You are now a favoured son of darkness. ]

The system's notification popped up in Lazy Wafula's head but he was too preoccupied to hear it. But even though Lazy Wafula didn't heard that voice, he felt like he had transmogrified into another being entirely. There was something deep inside him that was previously not there. It was something that his body craved for as if it was the last straw that was needed by his incomplete being.

His gleaming red eyes became dark, filled with boundless coldness and sharp like a sword. The energy in him intensified. This energy was not his but it was the energy of the earth which had now decided to help him as the favoured son. He was using the energy from an outside source without he himself knowing. His being became too intimidating that the Wood River before him started to cringe and trembling. Even the energy to escape from this place was not present, what it was waiting right now was its inevitable demise. Because of that dark wisp, Lazy Wafula became too cold and savage.

There was no humanity in him. He was like a beast from hell. The dark energy that was escaping from him like smoke as if he was a tree that was burning just added more to his intimidation. The aura of death coming from him was so suffocating as if he was the grim reaper who had come to harvest the souls of mortals.

No one could escape from the Grim Reaper's scythe when it was swung. His charcoal coloured nails elongated and they also glistened to the little light of the moon, showing its hideous nature of ripping souls. It was as sharp as a blade. Its incisiveness made it a weapon itself. They were so sharp in that they can pierce through ancestral level armors with ease.

Lazy Wafula raised his hand and used it like a knife and slashed the tongue that was still curled around his shoulder. Apparently, the Wood River was quivering too much that it even forgot to get its tongue from his shoulder.

The cut of its tongue was the thing that snapped it from its dazing and it screeched loudly as it tried to escape to the nearest tree but it was suddenly dismayed to find out that it can not escape from this area.

Lazy Wafula simply pierced through the void of space without moving from where he was and his long nails went through before coming out of the emptiness in front of the escaping Wood River. The nails then moved like a blur and pierced through its chest pulling out its still beating heart.

"What on Earth did that guy became? Was he hiding his cultivation stage?" Fey Wesonga was totally astounded. He remained rooted on the spot as he watched Lazy Wafula take out the beast with a single strike.
