Chapter 62 - Love Life Hotel (i

The spectators were seated on all the seats available and also the tables were wholly filled out. Even there were some people who had instead chosed to stand with their plates in hand - they couldn't allow themselves to miss this match. The match was not only a source of epiphany for them, but also it was a place to make money by placing bets on who would win.

Seeing that the ground floor was totally full, Lazy Wafula chosed to climb to the second floor but he was suddenly stopped at the door to the second floor.

"This is a place set aside for the distinguished only. Your cultivation level is too low to be accepted on this floor. Please stand aside." The second security guard who was standing before the door waved his hand at Lazy Wafula dismissively.

Lazy Wafula peered at the second floor and saw that there were many empty seats in there and the people who were enjoying their meal in that place were only a few.

"What are the qualifications to be allowed to be part of the eminent?" Lazy Wafula asked the guard nonchalantly.

"You have to be a level six mortal cultivator at minimum or if you are rich or a business mogul, you could also be given a chance... Erm, there is also a way for people like you to be regarded as the distinguished by this hotel.

What you just need to do is to sign up as a fighter in the knock out arena of champions. If you win, you get the distinguished pass but if you lose, then you don't get a pass. You will only be obliged to receive money as compensation..."

Lazy Wafula thought about what the guard had just said and he could not help but furrow his brows. He knew clearly that this was the only hotel that could satisfy his needs after he checked it out on the internet.

Other hotels were not his type and not only that, but they had even much restrictions than this hotel. He came here expecting to only eat from the ground floor which was his class but the floor was totally packed to the brim.

If he left right now, he would only look like a fool in front of everyone, even if he was not worried about what the people would say after he left without even ordering anything, he wanted to eat something and that was why he had not yet left.

He glanced at the arena and found out that there was no fighter above level five fighting on the arena thus, Lazy Wafula didn't found it inconceivable. So he asked, "Does the winner get any money other than the distinguished pass?"

"Of course, the winner will get even more money than the loser depending on the amount of profits that the hotel has made from the bets on your match." The guard answered scornfully, impatiently. He remembered what Lazy Wafula had just asked him and his face changed, "Wait, it can't be that you want to participate in the match? The opponents are selected at random who knows maybe you may be contended against a level five?" The guard had already scanned Lazy Wafula and knew that he was a level three. Level three cultivators rarely entered in to the ring. The arena was a place for level fours and level five, what could a level three fare in such a place?

Only one level three out of a hundred could win on the arena and that was only if they were lucky to be contended against a level four or an injured level five.

Instead of answering the guard's question, Lazy Wafula asked a question of his own, "where do I sign up for the matches?"

The guard thought for a moment and advised Lazy Wafula, " You should think about this carefully. You may be serious injured on the ring and if you are so hapless, you may even be killed. I advise you against this. It is just a distinguished pass for heaven's sake, you don't have to put your life on the line because of it. You can simply stand like the others and eat your food, no one will be mad about it..."

"There is no need to advise me. It is just a level five. There is no need to panic on my stead." Lazy Wafula assured the guard assertively.

Knowing that he could not advise the guy any longer, the guard showed Lazy Wafula where to sign up for the matches and returned to his post, he had advised the guy about what usually happened in the ring and if the guy had refused his advice, then he could not be held accountable later for causing Lazy Wafula's death. He was indifferent about the situation.
