Chapter 58 - Surveillance

He felt suffocated and perturbed as he tried to concentrate his consciousness to find where the feeling of being watched was coming from but he could not find where that feeling was originating from. It was there yet not there, meaning that he can still feel it being there close to him but seeing it with his own eyes was not something conceivable.

It just hurt his head due to the concentration that his head almost split apart because he wanted to gaze where this mighty being resided. He stopped focusing because he couldn't feel anything - it was as if what was glaring at him didn't even exist at all.

Huff! Huff!

Lazy Wafula panted. He opened his eyes which were now gleaming brightly without him even knowing.

Wa la la la la la la la la la la la la la!!!!

Lazy Wafula could hear the vague sounds. What he was seeing right now was not the wall of his cabin but the castle like that one which was in his soul space.

However, even though the castle looked almost identical to the one in his soul space, the environment around it was a tad bit different.

The castle was surrounded by a dark mist and the trees around it were also black like charcoal as if they were burned by a raging inferno but Lazy Wafula could clearly tell that the trees were not dead. The trees were more than alive.

Lazy Wafula was not given a chance to enjoy the view for a little longer because the vague sounds became too deafening to his ears. He stood there petrified. Even the energy to move his hands to cover his ears was not there, he was as weak as nothing. Blood came out through his ears and dripped to the floor. Lazy Wafula didn't knew that because of the disorienting view before him.

There was a young girl in front of Lazy Wafula. This girl had a doll which she had embraced it on her chest tightly, not wanting anyone to snatch it from her. Lazy Wafula felt like he had seen this girl somewhere before but he could not pinpoint as to where he saw the girl. Before he could even think further, the view before him distorted and he found himself still standing at the middle of his room.

The bright red eyes of Lazy Wafula dimmed and returned to their usual black color. The white ring which was the 'target scanner' that Nakba installed on his eyes, had also dimmed because Lazy Wafula didn't need its services now.

The Survival mark on the head of Lazy Wafula which was also gleaming earlier, faded into his forehead, normalcy returned. Lazy Wafula could not feel the gazing and suppression of the hidden being once again.

Just as usual, Lazy Wafula had also forgotten the face of the girl that he saw on the other side. He didn't even had a recollection that he had just gone to such a place, to him, he had never done that in the first place.

Coming back to himself, Lazy Wafula was confused as to why he was standing at the middle of his room while staring in front of him. He didn't knew why he was there. He turned around wanting to go back and sit on the floor but something caught the corner of his eyes.

There was something that had just appeared in his room that was not there previously. Although Lazy Wafula was too Lazy to make household items for his room as no items from the home planets can be accepted in this place, Lazy Wafula didn't forget to inspect every inch of his room. He knew very well how his room should look like.

At the wall where he was gazing, there was an image that was previously not there.

This image was simply a drawing of a kindergarten kid. It was a simple drawing of a girl.

The drawing was so simple in that a person may overlook this image but that was not Lazy Wafula. He used to drew these childish drawings when he was still a kid, that was before his parents passed away.

Intrigued, Lazy Wafula moved to the wall and pressed his thumb on the outline of the drawing. He wanted to rub it off from the wall but his brows furrowed after finding out that the drawing could not be erased. It had became a part of the wall.

Lazy Wafula was not someone that would indulge in something that was not gainful. Better he put his energy to something else, so after knowing that the image could not be rubbed off, Lazy Wafula willed the shop's interface window.

He was going back to Shirenje town. This was not his house after all and not only that but also, he didn't use to spent a lot of time in this room. If the room could even paint itself with a graffiti, then it could go ahead. He was indifferent.
