Chapter 11 - Finding Out More About The New World (2)

In the sprawling world of Eldoria, where danger lurked at every corner, Zephyrion found himself at a crossroads.

The computer screen before him displayed a grim reality - a world plagued by endless wars, where humans were slaughtered like livestock by formidable races: vampires, werewolves, and beast creatures.

Zephyrion's eyes scanned the screen, taking in the details.

Eldoria, a vast planet with a diameter of 14,000 miles, orbited in the distant Xylerion galaxy. Its dominion was divided among four powerful entities- humans, beast creatures, vampires, and werewolves.

Humans, the most populated race, claimed fifty percent of the land. Beast creatures had carved their homes into the dense forests and imposing mountains that were scattered around the Eldoria world.

Vampires and werewolves, with the two as sworn enemies, shared the remaining twenty-five percent, with vampires dwelling deep underground, far from human settlements, while the werewolves settlement are in the wilderness, concealing their dual nature.

In a population of five billion, seventy percent of humanity wielded the dual powers of martial and magic art, leaving the remaining thirty percent as ordinary citizens.

Three mighty human empires, Dracoria, Aetheria, and Thaloria, ruled over this diverse land.

Dracoria, home to the most strongest individuals, stood as the most powerful empire followed by Thaloria and Aetheria. Each empires have many kingdoms they overseas.

Within Eldoria's rich diversity of culture, two distinct forms of artistry thrived- Martial Arts and Magic Mastery.

Martial Arts encompassed a myriad of combat styles, from swordsmen to rangers, assassin, berserker and many more, each divided into six power stages- Outer stage, Inner stage, Houtain stage, Innate stage, Unity stage, and the elusive Returning to the Void stage.

And they are further subdivided into early, middle, and late levels. The pinnacle of this art was the elusive Returning to the Void stage, a goal few could reach.

Magic Mastery followed a similar structure with six divisions- Attunement, Novice, Adept, Artisan, Sage, and Arcanum. Each with their own levels of subdivision.

But Eldoria was a world stained with the blood of countless battles. Humanity had endured relentless attacks from vampires, who thirsted for human blood, and the territorial werewolves.

Despite being the most populous, humans are also the most weakest. With the constant wars among different races have led to a gradual decline in their population, resulting in the destruction of various kingdoms and forcing humans to seek shelter in neighboring settlement and empires.

Promising young future talent often met untimely deaths in these endless wars, their potential snuffed out in the struggle for survival.

After fifty years of another unending warfare, the strongest representatives of each races, excluding the beast creatures, convened to sign a fragile peace treaty.

Yet, even in this respite, humanity remained under siege from the beasts, a proud and unyielding race. Their core and flesh are essential for strengthening the other races so the beasts are not included in the peace treaty.

It was only after the peace treaty had been signed that the government, eager to take advantage of the aggrement, saw an opportunity.

They rallied the most formidable mages and martial artists from humanity's ranks, persuading them to forge a force like no other - the "SBP," standing for SpellBlade Protectors, a guardian alliance like never before.

It wasn't until the birth of the SBP that humans began to experience a radiant surge of newfound power and strength.

A wave of young talent and rising combat prowess emerged like shooting stars. Yet, even with this resurgence, it still fell short of posing a challenge to the other races.

Twenty-four years had passed since the treaty, and rumors of suspicious movements among vampires and werewolves now cast a shadow over the humans.

Humanity stood vigilant, readying countermeasures for the coming wars, that if vampires and the werewolves eventually decided to break the peace treaty.

However, instead of joy at the experience points gained, a horrified expression washed over Zephyrion's face. "This world is too dangerous," he muttered, a chilling realization taking hold. "I better keep a low profile until I have enough strength to defend myself."

In his past life on Earth, he had been a skilled assassin, unmatched in combat and there is no opponent around his age that can rival him except his brother.

Yet, in Eldoria, with its dangerous races and endless battles, that prowess felt insignificant. Here, he was but a Level 2 fart, unranked in both martial arts and magic, with only five meager attribute points that he still find it difficult to assign.

But Zephyrion also had to admit that this information ignited a fierce desire within him. He yearned to grow stronger, to participate in the impending wars - if the vampires and werewolves indeed broke the peace treaty.

Zephyrion's eyes remained fixed on the computer screen, his expression a mixture of trepidation and excitement. His heart pounded in his chest as he contemplated the weight of his newfound existence in this dangerous world.

"Am I the protagonist of this world?" Zephyrion mused, a wistful smile crossing his lips. "I reincarnated here with a system to save humanity from the besiege of these races, right?"

He chuckled, shaking his head. "Too much reading novels, I suppose. I can't even protect myself, let alone the entire human race."

"Status screen" Zephyrion said in his mind as he remembered the system notification sounded in his head earlier.

As he scan the system's status screen, he realized that this world offered him a chance at something more.

Perhaps he wasn't the savior of humanity, as his fleeting thoughts had suggested, but he could still become a force to be reckoned with.

With this thought, his desire to grow stronger burned brighter.

The battles that awaited him, the challenges he would face, they all beckoned to him like an irresistible call.

Zephyrion's hunger for power was insatiable. Since he was already here in this dangerous world, then he might just go with the flow and let fate take it course.

GRUUUUUHHHHLL!

Zephyrion's thoughts were interrupted by a growling stomach. He hadn't eaten since waking up, engrossed in the world's history for hours.

Glancing at the clock, he noticed it was 6:25 in the evening. Panic surged as he remembered the daily quest's time limit.

"Shit! The time limit for the daily quest is 6:30," he cursed, realizing he had no time to prepare or order for food from the internet.

He hurriedly dashed into the kitchen, too eager to bask in its beauty, and made a run for the refrigerator.

"Phew." He breath a sigh of relief as his eyes fell upon the stash of freshly baked loaves.

"Thank you, Yashin, thank you!" It was at that moment that Zephyrion fondly recalled Yashin's love for bread and his ever-ready supply in the fridge, just in case the craving struck.

With the movement of a ravenous beast, he tore into the nylon-wrapped bread, devouring each bite without pause. He continued this voracious feast until the familiar ding of the system notification resounded in his mind.

[Congratulations, dear host, for completing the daily quest. You've earned a reward of 5 attribute points!]
