Chapter 107 - Chapter 107: The Emotionless Witcher Is Afraid

After listening to Lann, Triss's emotions finally began to calm down, and exhausted, her consciousness became blurred. She subconsciously murmured: "You have been through this too, you understand how I feel..."

As she whispered, Lann held her hand and with his other hand continued to pour the Brokilon water over her body.

A few minutes later, as if her sanity suddenly returned, Triss's eyes suddenly became clear. "Lann, I need you to do me another favor."

"I need to contact other mages to convey to them that I am still alive. I also need their magic to speed up my healing and restore my appearance..."

Lann nodded and agreed. "It's not a problem. I'll go call Uncle Mousesack, he has magical devices to contact your fellow mages. Just tell him."

"No, don't let him in." Triss's voice suddenly weakened. "I don't want others to see what I look like now..."

...

Geralt has recently become very close to the craftsmen in the town of Brokilon.

Although the plan is to take Ciri back to Kaer Morhen, what differs from The Witcher Series is that Ciri is not fleeing at this time, but instead goes to seek shelter or 'study'.

Therefore, the Lannister retainers would naturally not allow Ciri to leave without proper preparations.

At first, Enns prepared casual clothes, dresses, and skirts for various occasions, but Geralt rejected them all expressionlessly.

Enns then asked the artisans of Brokilon to make training equipment for Ciri. Considering the development of the girl's body, the craftsmen planned to make a complete set and replace it from time to time.

This time Geralt had no objection and was even excited to get a few more sets back. Even though the Wolf School lives in a big castle, they can't even afford to repair the roof.

At night, when Geralt returned to the Lord's Mansion where he was temporarily staying, he heard Lann explaining to Enns to prepare an extra room.

"What's wrong, are there any new guests?"

Lann heard Geralt's words and sighed.

Poor Geralt, he doesn't know what he's about to face.

Lann took Geralt back to his study. He extended his hand to make a sign and his tone was indescribably polite. "Sit down."

Only he knows that he is trying not to laugh out loud at the moment.

"Geralt, I'm going to tell you something. Don't be afraid." Lann's expression was exceptionally serious. Therefore, Geralt's expression became solemn.

"I am a witcher, and witchers have no emotions." Geralt said. "They are not afraid either."

"That's good." Lann nodded. "Did you know that I rescued a sorceress recently? Her name is Triss."

Geralt nodded. "I must thank you for that too, Lann. Triss is a friend of the Wolf School and has been helping us a lot in terms of magic."

"So, saving her has gotten you into trouble? Don't worry, I'll do my best to help you."

Lann nodded, then shook his head. "The situation is this: Triss was injured, so she needed to contact other mages to help her with the healing, and you should also know that the sorceress who has the best relationship with her is Yennefer of Vengerberg..."

In Lann's eyes, Geralt's pupils suddenly constricted like pins. The 'emotionless' witcher seemed to be experiencing a tide of indescribable emotions within him.

Geralt interrupted Lann directly. "She's coming here? When?"

Lann pretended to look at the time and said: "I told Mousesack the news in the morning. If I count the time...she should have arrived in Col Serrai by now."

Geralt stood up with a bang, his expressionless face beginning to sweat slightly. "The road to Kaer Morhen is long. I think I have to leave with Ciri as soon as possible. Where is Mousesack? It's okay that we use a portal!"

Lann sighed. "I really want to help you, Geralt, I swear."

"But both Mousesack and Ciri are now in Col Serrai, and as I mentioned, Ciri needs the help of a mage. Do you think Triss is a better choice or Yennefer is a better choice?"

Geralt's expression finally broke.

...

Ciri looked warily at the woman in front of her, the most beautiful woman she had ever seen in her life.

It is said that enchantresses are all beautiful, but the woman in front of her is even more beautiful.

Her appearance, her makeup, her clothing, and the scent of lilacs and currants that she emanated, everything was so natural and perfect, granting her a crown of beauty.

In addition to her appearance, the woman radiated a dazzling confidence that was impossible to ignore. Ciri envied her both in looks and character.

Ciri thought to herself: 'It would be great to have this sorceress as a magic teacher. As long as she doesn't show herself naked to Lan like Triss.'

But then, the beautiful woman's words ruined Ciri's impression.

"Ugly girl, are you the princess of Cintra? Where is Lann who saved Triss? I heard that he is also a witcher?"

Ciri frowned. She wanted to scream now and order the guards to chop off the head of this disrespectful sorceress.

But she is no longer the unruly and willful princess. She remembered Lann's words, they needed to win over the mages as much as possible, and this woman was one of the people Lann had specifically mentioned.

'How could I gain her favor? So beautiful and self-confident, she had even rejected the title of royal advisor. What could I do to impress her?' Ciri thought for a moment and suddenly remembered a person...

Ciri wrinkled her nose and said angrily: "Are you Yennefer? Yennefer of Vengerberg?"

Yennefer looked around and said: "Yes, Triss told you, right? Where is she?"

At this time, the sorceress still did not forget the purpose of coming here. She had come here to help her friend, even with her own wounds not yet completely healed.

"Triss didn't tell me." Ciri frowned. "It was Geralt who mentioned it to me. I am his surprise child, and we will go to Kaer Morhen together later."

Yennefer stopped looking around, and her violet-like eyes suddenly stared at Ciri, sizing her up.

"Ugly girl, did you say that Geralt mentioned me?"

Ciri shook his head. "No, he never mentioned his own affairs."

Yennefer chuckled disdainfully.

"But he drank the water of Brokilon before and was in a coma for several days. He kept calling your name." Ciri said. "'Yennefer, sometimes I just said 'Yen' or 'Yenne' directly. That name stuck in my mind, it was all I heard in those days." Ciri lowered her voice, lively imitating the murmur of a confused man.

Yennefer raised an eyebrow, a smile appearing on her face that she couldn't help it.

Ciri thought to herself, 'Damn, this woman looks even better when she smiles.'

"Does Geralt know I'm here? Where is he?" Yennefer's tone was calm, as if Ciri's words had not affected her emotional state at all.

"He's in Brokilon Town, I don't know if he expected your arrival. But I saw Lann rush back to talk to him, so he probably already knows."

The sorceress smiled even brighter, and then she saw Ciri staring at her intently, and her face suddenly changed to a different smile. "You said before that you were Geralt's surprise child, right?"

Ciri nodded.

Looking at the gray hair that was very similar to Geralt's hair, Yennefer said: "Okay, ugly...girl, I'm starting to like you now."

"First, tell me where Triss is, we can talk about the rest later. We have all the time in the world in the future."

...

Outside the town of Brokilon, there are simply built gathering places for refugees.

In these refugee gathering places, a group of people appeared who painted three lion's claws on their clothes.

It is said that they initially planned to paint lions on their clothes but were later reprimanded by their leader because the lion was now a symbol exclusive to Ciri and House Lannister. So they settled for painting lion's claws.

They enthusiastically help all the refugees around them, and spontaneously maintain the security of the refugee area. They are extremely cooperative with the city guards who come to discipline them, and they know everything about the Lannister retainers.

What was remarkable about them was their high initiative and active cooperation in management, and all this without costing Lann a cent or consuming any energy.

The only thing that is different from normal refugees is that they gather together every morning or when they go to bed at night to pray to a dilapidated but carefully maintained Cintra Three Lions heraldic flag.

After praying, they will gather together to commiserate with each other about the sufferings of the past, share joy in the recent life with each other, and look forward to the future life with each other.

"I dreamed about a lion last night!"

In the early morning, at the place closest to the Three Lions Flag, a girl dressed simply but neatly shouted loudly. Her words received the envious eyes of those who gathered to pray.

"As long as we pray seriously and sincerely contribute our strength to the revival of Cintra, the lion will come into your dreams at night to protect you!"

Everyone was shocked by this, and they knelt down facing the Three Lions flag, clasped their hands in front of their chests, and began to sing and praise together.

"May the Lion lead us into your safe arms, hold us tight with light, and protect us. Protect our souls from the dark sun of the Empire…"

"Hold us, protect us…"
