Chapter 94 - Chapter 94: The Lion's Return

The continuous rain of arrows, composed of more than twenty archers, found holes in Lann's defense even if he constantly used [Fleet Footed].

Lann needed to change the situation quickly, so he formed the Aard Sign again with his hand, but this time he injected more magical power.

The next moment, a wild wind rose up!

The arrows in the air were dispersed, the soldiers could barely keep their eyes open in the gust of wind. When they stepped back and regained their vision, they saw that Lann was already close to them.

"Perfect, you are all gathered here." Lann smiled slightly as he looked at the ten soldiers in front of him.

Using magic power to increase the power of the sign was more effective than expected, and Lann suddenly had a good idea in mind.

With a firm posture, he extended his left hand, there was a flash of fire in his hand, and then his magic value began to fluctuate.

[Igni Sign!] [Igni Sign!] [Igni Sign!] [Igni Sign!]

Lann transformed into a ruthless flamethrower. Every time he waved his hand, one or two people transformed into fireballs. This was no longer a game, they did not rely on probabilities to ignite a target, it was one hundred percent certain that the affected bodies would burn. Humans clearly had no resistance to fire or magic.

The fired-up soldiers rolled and screamed as they tried to escape. The Nilfgaardian soldiers behind the team who had not yet been ignited were frightened, dropped their weapons, and turned around to escape.

At this moment, Lann took a deep breath and began to gather energy.

[Magic Burst - Igni Sign!]

The flames instantly covered the entire space in front of Lann, engulfing the more than ten remaining soldiers.

The wind spun and the flames formed a small tornado. Lann immediately jumped and rolled. The sudden increase in his strength caused him to roll on the ground several times before he was able to stop.

Lann brushed the dirt off her armor and hair, thinking that the skill [Fleet Footed] was still the most reliable.

A dying soldier lay on the ground. This is the last of the Nilfgaardian soldiers.

Black Wind moved his ears, getting closer. He watched the fire tornado and the battle scene as if he was thinking about something.

With a swift movement, Black Wind raised his left front paw towards the soldier.

The soldier closed his eyes in fear.

The flames of the tornado crackled. Lann looked confused at his horse. "Black Wind, what are you doing?"

Both the horse and the fearful soldier remained motionless.

Lann shook her head, noticing the girl who had been stripped of her clothes at first. He was trembling now, but his gaze, as he watched the burning soldiers, was full of inexplicable satisfaction.

Lann looked around and noticed the flag on the ground embroidered with the coat of arms of the Three Lions of Cintra. He walked over, shook the dust off vigorously, and handed this to the girl.

In the end, the flame tornado finally dissipated, and the hot air swept away in all directions. The hot wind blew past, causing the Three Lions flag of Cintra in Lann's hand to flutter in the wind.

The girl's eyes widened in shock, staring at the man in front of her, whose golden hair was blowing in the wind, with blood and sand on his face and armor, and the flag of Cintra fluttering behind him.

The most important thing is the dark golden eyes, which are like the lion's pupils painted on the three lions coat of arms on the flag.

The girl's face was burned red by the flames: "Are you...Lord Lannister?"

Lann was confused and asked: "Do you know me?"

With a thud, Black Wind finally lowered his paw and ended the life of the last Nilfgaardian soldier.

He then scratched the dirt with his hoof to clean the blood and disdainfully snorted.

The girl turned a deaf ear to Black Wind's movement. She ran to the side and carefully pulled out the gryphon steel sword that Lann had thrown out at the beginning and wiped the blood on Nilfgaard's soldiers vigorously.

The girl respectfully handed the steel sword to Lann with both hands and said. "Two years ago, you helped the weak and oppressed in the capital. At that time, my father wanted me to go to the 'Rose Garden' to sing and work to help at home, but I wanted to be a teacher."

"You heard about my situation in the tavern and defended me to my father. Not only did you not charge me anything, but you also persuaded a respected literature professor to accept me as a student."

Lann thought for a moment. In fact, he remembered completing that secondary task shortly after he had transmigrated. Helping others gave him a sense of accomplishment and plunged him into a kind of emotional addiction.

The girl spoke faster and faster. "Thanks to your help, today I can be here teaching children."

She spoke as if she were reporting to a leader, eager for praise. "There are many people like me, and the people of Cintra remember you. When Queen Calanthe announced your death, we gathered to mourn you, pray together for you, and sing your name together."

"I didn't expect you to actually come back at this time of danger..."

The girl's words became more and more outrageous. Lann was worried about her loved ones and friends, so he interrupted her. "When did the Nilfgaard soldiers arrive? Did you see Princess Cirilla or Advisor Mousesack?"

He was sure that Ciri and Mousesack didn't ignore the Lannister family after his 'death'. If he found them, he would surely also find his servants and butler.

"Ah. Are you coming back to save the princess, to continue the bloodline of Cintra?" The girl seemed to understand something and said: "The Nilfgaardians came yesterday. They broke into the castle this afternoon. I heard a huge explosion from the castle. It may be the power of Advisor Mousesack. I don't know where the princess is... "

The girl's voice became lower and lower, and she suddenly asked: "Are you a lion now?"

Lann was very anxious after hearing what the girl said. From his perspective, he could see the collapsed wall of the castle from a distance. Mousesack used such power, indicating that a huge danger must have occurred.

Although in The Witcher Series Mousesack and Ciri survive, what would happen if something went wrong?

Facing the girl's question, he nodded in an almost perfunctory manner, and then said: "You should run away quickly. While there are no Nilfgaardians in this area, take your family or friends and run away quickly, lest they Come back again."

After thinking for a moment, he continued. "If you find other refugees, tell them to go north, because Nilfgaard's soldiers are coming from the south. In the north, there are our remaining forces and perhaps Marshal Vissegerd will protect them."

The girl's eyes shone with dazzling light when she saw Lann nodding. She seemed to have received a promise and was guided in the direction: "I will find other refugees who suffered in the war and lead them to the north."

Lann nodded satisfied. He feared that he would not be able to communicate with the refugees, but the girl had saved him a lot of work, so he continued. "Correct. If you don't find our troops on the way, go to the town of Brokilon."

"That is my land and if you mention my name, they will protect you. Furthermore, it is the northernmost and safest place in Cintra. I am sorry, I cannot personally escort you. I have more important matters to attend to."

The girl's eyes shone even brighter. "When we reach the northern end of Cintra, we will recite your name together and the people there will protect us. Understood, go and fulfill your greatest mission. Don't worry about us."

Lann nodded towards the girl, pulled the reins, and rode Black Wind in the direction of the capital.

The girl looked absorbed at Lann's figure, without looking away.

Some villagers who originally lived in the village had gathered here.

It was more appropriate to call them refugees now, since they had lost their homes. In the crowd, strong and healthy youths were rare, as young men had taken up weapons to fight Nilfgaard. The majority were weak people and abused women, as well as children hidden due to their short stature.

They looked in the direction Lann had gone, full of surprise and doubt.
