Chapter 7 - CHAPTER 7

Aurora turned her face away, turning down his kiss.

"Uh, I am sorry, I got carried away", Lucas said, standing up from the bed.

"No problem ", Aurora replied, holding her chest as her heart raced fast.

Lucas clapped his hands twice and in no time, the maids came rushing in.

"I feel it is only right that I show you around before the feast. You should be familiar with the way things are done. They will give you anything you want, they will wash you up and give you something to wear, something longer this time", Lucas said with a smirk and walked out of the room.

"Hi", Aurora greeted the servants.

"This way my lady" " one of the maids said, pointing her to a bathtub already prepared with candles at the top and rose petals in the water.

The candles were scented and it was just what Aurora needed. She turned down their request and insisted that she would bath by herself. A screen was built outside the tub so the servants waited for her outside the tub.

"Here you go", one of the maids said, handing her two large-sized white towels.

Aurora quickly dried herself up and wrapped her body in one of the towels, she also tried her dark blonde hair with the second towel.

"These two cupboards are filled with clothes your size, my lady. Should we help you pick up your dress?"

"That won't be necessary ", Aurora replied the Maids, staring at the wardrobe filled with clothes.

They left the room and Aurora began her search for a good dress. Each dress wowed her and she could not decide because the more dresses she saw, the more she became confused, all the dresses were stunning. Her eye finally caught a red corset dress with gold embroidery.

"This is it", Aurora said to herself.

"My Lady, the King wants to see you", one of the servants shouted from outside her bedroom.

"Tell him I'll be with him in a minute", Aurora replied. She quickly dressed up and went through the corridors, wondering how she would find the king.

"This way", one of the guards who noticed how lost I was said. He showed Aurora the stairs and she could see the king downstairs.

Lucas was speaking with his chief adviser when he paused dramatically. As soon as he saw Aurora walking down the stairs, he was mesmerized and could not stop staring at her, his mouth agape.

"My king, My king", the adviser said, bringing him back to life.

"Oh, you will have to excuse me", Lucas left him and went to the edge of the stairs to wait for Aurora. When she reached the last step, he took her by the hand.

"Watch your step", Lucas said. He could not stop grinning from ear to ear.

"What?", Aurora asked as he noticed that he was smiling so much.

" You know, my mother wore this dress a couple of times but I think it suits you more", Lucas teased.

"You flatter me", Aurora said, her cheeks were red.

"This is the King's hall, it is twice as big as the largest land in this city, it could contain about 10,000 people all at once", Lucas said, spreading his hands open to demonstrate how wide the hall was.

"No way", Aurora said with her mouth agape.

"It is true, and that is why I love throwing feasts. Not just that, I love to invite everyone to come and dine with me", Lucas said, rubbing his tummy.

"How generous of you", Aurora said as her eyes widened, she walked over to a painting and ran her hands over it.

" That is a picture of my family. My father has always loved art, he would make sure that we had enough paintings in the castle. My mother, on the other hand, was so beautiful, she was art herself", Lucas said, looking at the old painting.

"What about this person, who is this", Aurora asked, pointing to the man who stood beside Lucas.

"Yes! That is Luis, my younger brother, he is my biggest supporter.

"Oh, I see", Aurora said, her mind wandered, thinking about where she had seen him, something about him was familiar.

"Come, let me show you to my study room", Lucas said, beckoning Aurora to follow him.

The king's study room was wider than a big library. Aurora got lost in the number of books she saw, the pile was so long, it almost touched the ceiling.

"You read all of these?", Aurora asked in disbelief.

"Yes, do you see all of the books here are limited editions and I have read all of them ", Lucas replied boldly.

"All of them?", Aurora asked again.

"Yes, I love reading. This is where I come to escape the stress of ruling the kingdom. I spend time learning about my ancestors and how to be a better werewolf.

"I want to be a better werewolf too, it is all I dream about", Aurora said, her voice was shaky.

"I have trained the best werewolves. I can teach you all that you need to know", Lucas said, arranging a pile of books.

"You must be so smart with all these books you read", Aurora said with her smile, her eyes lightened up.

"I am, would you prefer a smart man or a strong man?", Lucas asked, his face was blank.

"I don't know ", Aurora replied bluntly.

"Luckily for you, I am both of those things ", Lucas replied.

"Luckily for me"?, Aurora asked, her eyes furrowing with surprise.

" I see the way you look at me", Lucas said, raising one of his eyebrows.

"Unbelievable", Aurora said, slapping her palms on her forehead and rolling her eyes.

"I am just joking, come, let me show you where they make the best meal, the royal kitchen", Lucas said, holding her hands and dragging her away from the study room. Aurora followed him.

The royal kitchen was filled to the brim, so many people were running around trying to put together varieties of meals for the feast, the fire from the firewood covered the pots with no mercy. Aurora could feel the heat from where she stood.

"Can we go to the next place?", Aurora asked, feeling uneasy about the place.

"Lucas, can I see you for a minute", Chloe yelled from just outside the kitchen.

"Aurora, give me a minute, when I am back,we will leave", Lucas said, going over to see Chloe.

Aurora waited at the door and one of the cooks called Aurora to help her pick up a glass cup where she stood. Aurora, who was always ready to help, went over and picked the glass cup from the cupboard. She hardly noticed that the cook had dragged the tail of her dress into the hot fire.

"Here, you go ma'am", Aurora said, handing over the glass cup to her,not noticing that the fire had caught on her dress and was burning fiercely from the lower part of her dress upwards.

"She's on fire", Someone screamed, pointing at Aurora.
