After 10 minutes, they returned to the room, resumed their seats, and the assistant spoke, "So, we checked the information you provided and confirmed it. But don't you think it's a bit exaggerated to say that it has started, considering that only two viscounts support your brothers?" He tried to understand Lucca's perspective.
Lucca asked, "What does that have to do with Anthony's assassination attempt?"
"It doesn't, we're just gathering as much information as possible. But one thing you haven't told us is whether they showed their faces," the assistant asked in a friendly manner.
"Of course not!" Lucca replied indignantly. "They were all dressed in black, wearing masks and robes that covered their entire bodies. I saw nothing that could provide meaningful information, so I didn't mention it."
"Ah, let's pretend you're trying to hide that information," commented the teacher, clearly irritated.
"But you still haven't answered my question. Don't you think it's exaggerated to say that the civil war has already begun?" insisted the assistant.
Lucca showed surprise and asked, "Are you sure? When did you receive that information? From what I've heard, more people have declared their support."
Again, they left the room, and after about 10 minutes, they returned. "We checked again and can only reveal that we receive information weekly!"
"So, it means there are kingdom spies within the duchy. What interesting information!" Lucca laughed at the information he had received and thought to himself, 'I've never seen spies within my father's inner circle. The only option is that they have someone inside the viscounts. What interesting information! Haha, sucker!'
"You think you're clever, huh? Congratulations, you've realized what many already know. Besides, you can't disclose any information from this interrogation. Understood?" She stood up from her chair, approached Lucca, and shouted in his ears, "Now, get out of this room, you're getting on our nerves! Apparently, you don't have any useful information."
So, Lucca simply stood up from the chair, leaving the room, visibly exhausted from the lengthy interrogation.
Upon exiting the room, he noticed Anthony and Emily waiting. "Shall we?" Lucca asked. Both nodded affirmatively, heading towards the exit together.
Arriving at the fortress, they found all the students gathered around the stand designated for the body handover to allocate points.
Approaching his group, Lucca inquired, "What's going on?"
"They just announced the end of the camp. On Monday, they'll reveal the results in the auditorium at 8 a.m.," Alice informed in response to Lucca's question.
He nodded. Ana, curious, asked, "How was the interrogation?"
"Boring as hell! But I think it was solid! But will we stay here over the weekend, or will we go to the academy tomorrow?" Lucca asked.
"We still don't know," Alice replied.
Days passed until Monday morning arrived. Lucca and his group entered the auditorium, taking their seats.
Ivy teased Alice, "Are you nervous?" with a smile on her face.
Alice, too nervous to respond, remained silent. Seeing this, Ana replied on her behalf, "Nervous? She's dying inside, haha!" and laughed.
"It's impossible not to be in first place! Don't worry, Alice," Lucca analyzed, trying to cheer her up.
"Dream on!" a voice behind them exclaimed, but unfortunately, the group chose not to respond.
After that, the owner of the academy took the stage, talking about pride in the students' results and the importance of working hard for a future. Finally, he announced what everyone was waiting for: "But now let's get to what you came here for."
"To announce the top 10 groups of the camp competition who will receive their prizes in academy coins! So, let's begin?" he asked, smiling.
In response to the director's question, the students replied, "Yes!"
"Then let's start with the 10th place," he opened the envelope and read the name of Arthur's group from the Clark family, which ranked 10th with 95 points. Each member received 25 coins, and there was enthusiastic applause for the group.
The same procedure followed for the other places, culminating in the top three. The 3rd place went to Robert's group from the Jones family, also with 95 points, earning 25 coins for each member. The audience applauded warmly as the group ascended the stage.
The director, briefly, asked, "What was your strategy?"
"Kill anything that moved in front of us, no matter the level!" Robert exclaimed with a slight smile. The director congratulated the group, handing each member five envelopes as a reward for the points earned.
