But before she could respond, the teacher spoke: "Well, form a circle around me!" she ordered.
"Now, I'll give you some more information about the camp. Before I forget! Put these on your arms!" she said, taking some bracelets from the storage ring.
She approached a random person and said, "Give this to your classmates!" and began counting how many she was giving to the person, asking, "40, right?"
"Yes!" replied the student who received the responsibility to distribute the bracelets to the class.
The same happened with the remaining 4 classes, and with everyone now wearing the bracelet, she continued: "Place one of your fingers on the orb of the bracelet!" she ordered.
Lucca did as the teacher asked and placed his finger on the orb, but something unexpected happened!
(Lucca! They want to see your stat window! What are your orders?) Ori spoke with a concerned tone.
"Don't do anything, let me see if I can get more information!" replied Lucca. He didn't want to rush into making a decision without knowing the purpose of that bracelet.
With that decision made, Lucca decided to ask the teacher by raising his hand. Seeing this, the teacher said, "Not now!"
"But it's just to ask about the bracelet!" Lucca insisted, hoping to get some information from the teacher.
"As I said before, not now!" the teacher insisted, this time with an authoritative tone.
Seeing that the teacher wasn't going to say anything to Lucca, he had to change his approach, and the person he decided to ask was, of course, Alice. So he started looking at Alice, who sighed, realizing that Lucca wanted to ask her something.
"Do you know what this is for, right?" Lucca inquired.
"I may not know all the details, but I understand it's for teachers to monitor our HP in case of unexpected situations or when facing a creature or animal unprepared, especially those with a higher level, resulting in significant HP loss," explained Alice.
"Can you analyze what the bracelet does?" Lucca wanted to make sure of what he would decide.
(It reveals your stats, as I mentioned before, what element you have the most affinity with, and your location!) Ori analyzed.
"Do we have any way to see other people's stats?" he asked, thinking that if they could see their classmates' stats, they might identify a pattern and alter the information to the academy.
(You need 50,000 soul tokens!)
"Oh, fuck! There aren't many options; we'll have to block them from seeing my stats and only let them see my HP!"
(I also think that's the best option. And regarding the location?) Ori inquired.
"We'll have to let them know, but they can only find out if I have the bracelet with me, right? It's not like they're implanting a location chip inside my body, is it?" he asked just to be sure since all he heard and saw from the academy were things of shit; it's better to be safe than sorry.
(You can rest assured; it's only when you have the bracelet.)
With that, Lucca turned his attention back to what the teacher was saying.
"As I mentioned before, we're going to a Rank 7 field. You'll be staying in a military dormitory. You'll hunt within the field, and each group leader will receive a storage ring. As soon as you defeat an animal or creature, you store it inside, and at the end of the day, you hand over the bodies and so on every day until the camp ends!" said the teacher with a determined expression.
"Is that all? Isn't there a competition or something like that?" asked a student with a confused look, as he was accustomed to events having prizes.
"Of course, for each body handed in, you earn points. Obviously, depending on the level, you may receive more for each. The higher the level, the more points!" she explained but sighed deeply and continued, "But don't forget, just because it's worth more doesn't mean you have to go after them without thinking. Value your lives, don't be reckless, don't be greedy, don't underestimate your opponents, and always be mindful of your stamina, and, for some, your mana! Never think, 'I have a reasonable amount of stamina to kill one more.' I'll give you this advice: that one more could be the reason for your death, and the field will be your grave!"
"Yes, I'm here to see if you don't die, but don't think I'll always be available. So don't assume that any trouble that happens, and I know the teacher will help me survive. If all of you think that way, it may be that I am in another situation, and I won't arrive in time to save you. How do we avoid that?" she asked.
"Always be attentive to what surrounds us, never face animals or creatures that are much higher level than us, and be mindful of our stamina!" Alice responded to the teacher with a look as if a grenade had gone off in her head.
"Exactly! Ten points for your group!" the teacher said, pleased with Alice's response and to encourage the other students.
