Chapter 36 - Preparation for the First Day of Camp

Lucca found himself in a significant dilemma, torn between exploring more clubs or joining the gambling club. He was captivated by the potential for substantial earnings facilitated by the system, a sentiment clearly visible in Lucca's eyes as if imaginary gold coins were materializing.

Amidst this internal struggle, a voice whispered in his ear, "Go to this club; you clearly like the idea of the group!" Alice was attempting to convince Lucca.

"Do you really think so?" Lucca asked her.

"Yes, I really do! This club is excellent; trust me!" she persisted in trying to sway Lucca's decision.

After pondering for two minutes, Lucca finally decided and said, "Okay, I want to join. How do I proceed?"

Behind Lucca, Alice celebrated, and he thought to himself, 'Why do I feel like I just fell into one of her traps?'

("100% you fell for it.")

"Excellent! You just need to fill out this form and place your coin in this!" Hugo pulled an orb from his ring.

Hearing that he needed the coin, Lucca took it from his pocket and handed it to Hugo, who began passing the coin over the orb. Meanwhile, Lucca started filling out the form, all the while wondering what that orb was going to do.

As soon as the orb emitted a green light, Hugo stored it and returned Lucca's coin. "There you go, you're now registered as part of our Club!"

"And where does the group meet?" asked Lucca.

"Oh, right, almost forgot about that. On Monday after you guys return from the camp, we'll gather near the main tower, and from there, we'll head to the Club room!" Hugo revealed.

"So, until next Monday! Goodbye!" Lucca bid farewell.

"Until next time!"

They exited the tent and headed towards the main hall. Lucca then asked, "Ivy signed up for the dueling club, right?"

"Exactly!" Alice replied.

"And Nolan?"

"We don't know. We tried asking him, but he said he still hadn't decided."

"Okay"

Lucca woke up, already feeling a knot in his stomach, and he thought to himself, 'Calm down, breathe; this nervousness is going to kill me!' The nerves stemmed from the realization that he wouldn't be fighting in the dungeon anymore, where he could respawn if he made a mistake. Now, any error within the fields could be the reason for his death!

Lowering the walls of his room, Lucca saw everyone was present and asked, "Are we heading to the dungeon, or should we save our energy for this so-called camp?"

All eyes turned to Alice, recognizing her as the leader and starting to realize that her sister had given her advanced information about what would happen at the academy. With a sigh, she responded, "Well, my sister suggested saving our energy, but I'm eager to go to the dungeon."

"In my opinion, we should follow your sister's advice," Lucca suggested, recalling his habit of heeding the advice of elders, a practice that led to success on Earth.

"I have a completely different opinion! The higher our level, the safer we'll be against animals or creatures, and we'll also earn more points!" Ana suggested, determined to achieve a high score at the camp.

"What's the point of having safety if, on the first day in the field, we hunt one creature and have to leave because we lack stamina and mana to continue? Aren't we supposed to get used to fighting with our lives at risk?" responded Lucca firmly, his gaze determined.

And he thought to himself, 'It seems some want the easy path, but true strength comes from facing challenges head-on. We need to embrace the risks if we want to truly grow in this world.'

"I agree with Lucca," Nolan said expressionlessly.

"So it's decided, we'll follow my sister's advice!" Alice declared after much consideration, taking on her role as the group leader.

"Hey, I haven't given my opinion yet!" Ivy spoke up loudly, a mischievous grin on her face.

"Because everyone already knows what your opinion will be!" Ana retorted.

"And what's that?"

"To go to the dungeon and fight anything, no matter what!" Ana responded with a sigh.

"See, you got it all wrong. I was going to say not to go to the dungeon!" Ivy replied with a proud tone, crossing her arms and pouting.

"I can't believe this is happening! Ivy managed to have a better opinion than Ana! Pinch me!" Lucca reached his arm out for Nolan to pinch him, and as Nolan did, Lucca exclaimed, "Son of a bitch, I was just kidding!" feeling the pinch for real.

"You told me to do it, so I did!" Nolan responded again with no expressive reaction.

The only thing Ana did was lower her head, saying nothing and doing nothing, while Alice, reacting to her friend's antics, said, "Come on, everyone, let's grab something to eat. I think we'll need a hearty breakfast to endure the journey!"
