Sharone moved with deadly precision, her scythe flashing in the dim light as she took out the two vampires standing guard outside the room. With a swift and silent motion, she took off one vampire's head, the scythe slicing through the air with a soft whoosh. The second vampire attempted to react, but Sharone was too quick, ripping out her heart with a swift and brutal motion. She observed their bodies turned to ash and disappeared before turning to the door and bursting into the room, her eyes scanning the space until they landed on Korvus.
He sat calmly, a glass cup of amber-colored liquid cradled in his hand, a look of bland interest on his face.
"Oh, Lady Sharone," he said, his voice low and smooth. "How nice of you to join me. I was just thinking about paying you a visit. I hope you've been well."
The air in the room was thick with tension as She slowly walked around the room not taking her eyes off the vampire.
Sharone's eyes narrowed as she gazed at Korvus, her voice low and even.
"What are you doing here?"
Korvus's expression was calm, almost serene, as he replied,
"You shouldn't be like that, Princess Sharone. We're old friends, after all. We've known each other for centuries. You should at least ask about how I've been doing." He took a sip of his drink, his eyes never leaving hers.
Sharone's gaze didn't waver. "Don't play games with me, Korvus. Why are you here and what is your involvement in what's going on? Answer me." She demanded pointing her scythe at him.
Korvus sighed and set his drink down, rising to his feet.
"Very well, Sharone. I'll be direct. I've been sent by Queen Yellaine to bring you back home."
Sharone's eyes flashed with anger. "Home? You call that place home? After everything they've done to me?"
Korvus's expression was sympathetic. "Now now.I know it's hard, Sharone. Calling someone who's younger than you 'mother' can be....difficult and she can be a bit.... hard to deal with at times. But Queen Yellaine has your best interests at heart. She wants to help you."
Sharone's laughter was cold, mirthless.
"My best interests? You think confining me like a caged animal and sending sending mercenaries after me when I decided to leave everything to her my best interests?"
Korvus's expression turned somber.
"I know things haven't been ideal, Princess. But the queen truly cares about you. She wants to help you control your... condition."
Sharone's eyes blazed with fury. "Condition? You mean my Half-Vampirism? My supposed 'curse'?Among the vampires I wasn't turned by being bitten but received blood directly from Father. And yet I remain a halfblood. I've had enough of being treated like a monster, Korvus. I've had enough of being confined, of being treated like a prisoner. I'm free now, and I won't go back to that."
Korvus's expression turned stern. "For the last time, Sharone, will you come with me?"
Sharone's voice was firm, resolute.
"I'm exactly where I belong."
Korvus's smile was sly, menacing.
"Well,I can't force you. In fact I have no problem with that, Princess. But there's no telling what could happen should you decide to stay here. Your friends for instance ...." He emphasized the word, his eyes glinting with malice.
Sharone's anger boiled over, and she launched herself at Korvus, fangs bared. But Korvus was ready for her, his whip flashing out to block her attack. The whip cracked through the air, striking Sharone with incredible force. She barely blocked and was sent crashing through the wall into the next room.
Korvus followed her, his eyes blazing with a mixture of anger and concern.
"You were once my pupil, Sharone. I trained you, taught you everything you know. It seems you've been corrupted by the humans, and it's my responsibility to knock some sense into you."
Sharone emerged from the wreckage, her eyes filled with a burning rage. "You think you can force me back into that gilded cage?"
Korvus's expression hardened.
"I won't let you throw your life away, Sharone. You are still a vampire and can still be useful to the Federation. The queen offers you a chance at redemption, a chance to be part of something greater than yourself."
Sharone scoffed.
"Redemption? From what? From being myself? I've never felt more alive than I do now. I'm free, and I'll never let anyone take that away from me again."
Korvus sighed, his voice heavy with disappointment. "Very well, Sharone. Have it your way. But remember, you brought this upon yourse-"
Before he could finish an explosion sent backwards as he jumped back to evade.
Sharone shot out of the smoke immediately on the offensive. The two moved so fast they seemed to disappear, the only signs of Thier presence was the sound of metal on metal and the marks that cuts that appeared on the walls and floor as they exchanged blows.
" I see you've gotten stronger." Korvus said using his whip to pull the scythe out of her hands. " But you're still-"
Sharone formed gauntlets and punched Korvus in the gut with such force that he spat blood. She didn't stop there but twisted her fist and forced him into the ground through the ground below them.
Korvus slowly got to his feet. Sharone jumped through the hole in to the lower floor.
He felt the killing intent emanating from her and a shiver ran down his spine.
" It seems I've succeeded in making you angry. It is to be expected. You are a woman after all. But don't get cocky." He said pulling out another whip and lashing the ground with them. Smale blades shot out of the sides.
" I'll show you why I'm the most revered master in the Necrolionic Federation." He yelled.
With a swift motion, she made a motion like she was drawing a bow. Korvus reacted just in time to dodge the attack which blew a hole in the wall. With a flick of his wrist, he unleashed a torrent of shadow tendrils. Sharone danced around the barrage jumping back.
Sharone charged forward, her scythe flashing in the dim light of the room.
As Sharone closed in, Korvus lashed out with one of his whips, the tip striking Sharone's scythe with a loud clang. Sharone didn't flinch, her grip on the scythe tightening as she swung it in a wide arc, aiming for Korvus's chest.
Korvus dodged to the side, his second whip cracking out to strike Sharone's arm. Sharone grunted in pain, but she refused to back down. With a swift motion, she swung her scythe in a reverse arc, the blade biting deep into the wall mere inches from Korvus's face. Spikes shot out of the side of the scythe blade strike Korvus in the shoulder.
Korvus's eyes widened in surprise, but he quickly regained his composure. He looked at the wound in his shoulder. It wasn't healing. He grunted.
With a flick of his wrist, he sent one of his whips cracking out to strike Sharone's scythe, the force of the impact sending Sharone stumbling back.
Sharone recovered quickly. Magic circles appeared behind her .
Blood Chains.
Spiked chains shot out of them at Korvus who met her attack with a whip, the two clashing in a flurry of motion as he defleced.the barrage. The air was filled with the sound of cracking whips and clashing steel. She ran around the attack closing the distance in an instant and raising her weapon to attack from behind.
He used one whip to block and lashed out with the other one , catching Sharone by the foot. He attempted to throw her into the chains that were converging on him but she made a chain appear in her left hand and wrapped it around his right hand just as he was in the middle of a swinging motion. This caused the two of them to spin like a disk before Sharone broke the chain linking them as well as Korvus' while and the two flew in opposite directions,Sharone ending up outside and Korvus being thrown deeper into the building.
The two got to their feet and sized each other up.The two combatants clashed, their movements lightning-fast as they exchanged blow after blow all around the mansion.
