A large explosion tore through the city. The smoke mingling with the dark clouds that hung in the sky.Ekron erupted in chaos. Explosions ripped through the city, shredding buildings and streets. Flames engulfed homes, screams echoing through the carnage.
A towering figure emerged from the smoke. His pale skin seemed almost translucent, black eyes burning with red irises. He was barechester wearing only a sleeveless jacket with fur at the collar which made it appear as if he had a mane and black leather trousers. His boots crucned on the debris as he strolled through the destruction with his hands in his pockets, unfazed, ignoring the civilians that ran by him or the explosions that continued to sound in the distance.
"My master told me to create an opening," Scourge muttered to himself, his voice a low, guttural rumble. "But wouldn't it have been more efficient to simply annihilate everything?" He paused, his gaze drifting across the ruined city. "Ah, well. Perhaps there will be more opportunities for destruction later."
Guards approached, wary.
"Who are you?"one of them demanded, his voice trembling.
Scourge's gaze locked onto them. "Tch.Only Small fry"
With a swift movement, he reached out and grabbed the guard's head, crushing it with his bare hands like a melon. Blood splattered, brain matter oozing from the shattered skull.
The remaining guards, horrified, attacked with their weapons, but their swords bounced off his skin.
Moving with blinding speed, Scourge struck down his assailants ,effortlessly tearing limbs from sockets.
He sighed, boredom etched on his face. "I'm itching for a fight."
With a powerful leap, he soared into the air. He hovered for a second observing the entire city scape from a birds eye view. With a deafening boom, his massive body shot through the air like he'd been fired from a conon and he crashed into the wall that surrounded Ekron. The impact of his created a powerful wave that caused the entire western part of the wall to collapse, sending debris flying into the city.
When the dust settled, Scourge emerged, unscathed, from the wreckage. He yawned, stretching his enormous frame.
"Boring" he said as Goblins poured into the city. His attention was drawn to loud yells behind him and he turned.
A group of raiders charged towards the invading force , weapons raised. Scourge vanished and appeared in their mist almost instantly, cracks expanding from the ground under him.His fist shattered a raider's chest, ribs splintering. Another's head spun off, severed neck spouting blood.
A third raider stabbed at his back. The blade bounced off, shattering.
Scourge reached out, grasping the raider's face. Fingers dug into flesh, tearing skin from bone and brought his face closer to his.
"Scream," he whispered.
The raider's shrieks echoed through Ekron's streets.
More guards arrived, forming a phalanx. With their formation, they could have held off the goblins but Scourge was too much for them to handles and he tore through their formation, moving deeper into the city.
Bodies crumpled, crushed beneath his feet.
Goblins swarmed, slaughtering the civilians who weren't able to evacuate in time.
Scourge looked at the corpses around him,an unsatisfied expression on his face. He turned to walk away but sensed a strong energy source in the distance. His expression changed to that of amusement and contempt. "More toys to play with," he murmured.
With a sinister grin, he turned and walked into the chaos.
The city was a maelstrom of chaos. Goblins, grotesque creatures with sharp teeth and savage eyes, swarmed the streets, their guttural cries echoing through the shattered buildings. Quickly, the Moonshadow stepped into action. Each member led a small force that aimed at eliminating the goblins that had gotten to the heart of the city while isolating the breached wall, pushing the goblins back out through it.
Sharone, moved like a wraith, her crimson Scythe a blur as she sliced through the goblin horde she was stationed at the northern side, the place most affected by the horde.
Adriana, aided in evacuation while taking out any goblins that had gotten past Lin and Koniko who were on the south side taking down and pushing back the ugly bastards. She used the skill,Thermal Reversal,to take advantage of the fire manipulation the goblins were born with turning their attacks against them and freezing them while making use of her recently learned lightning magic. While she wasn't as adept as her twin brother, it was still a magic she'd inherited from their father and she'd try her best to master it.
further ahead,Lin made full use if her wind magic to literally blow her goes away. She pushed the goblins back from the south of the breach while Sharone did her part from the north. Koniko was some distance behind the two of them. She was positioned in the centre of thier triangular formation, supporting the two of them with her fire arrows, sniping the goblins from afar. The plan was to use this formation to push the goblins back while the other Moonshadows moved in between the gaps to take out any interlopers. Adriana took out any goblins who got past them while evacuating. The goblins however had the numbers advantage.
Meanwhile, Sasha, teleported across the market district as she muttered. She was tasked with guarding the Silver Palace, where the slumbering Demon Lord lay, oblivious to the ongoing conflict.
Sasha complained under her breath, "Why am I the one guarding the demon lord. I'm barely getting any action here." She stood on a rooftop and observed the battle. A goblin ran last him. A Spatial rift opened under him and he fell through. It closed just when it reached its neck and opened beside it, throwing it's body beside the severed head.
Sharone's telepathic voice echoed in Sasha's mind.
"Stop whining Sasha . You've got the most important role in all this."
Sasha sighed, "I know, I know. But it's so boring. I want to join the fight.Besides Saleem is there right. She could-."
Adriana cut her off.
"Despite being weaker than Dona herself,Saleem is still a Dragonkin. She could end up wiping out the entire province with the release of her energy."
" And then there's Dona herself. What do you think will happen if she's woken at this time?" Lins question echoed in her mind. She sighed.
"Just hold out. We'll finish this soon." Koniko assured.
Sasha resigned herself, "Fine. I'll stay."
Sasha teleported to a different location only to be instantly grabbed and thrown through a couple of buildings nearby. She managed to regain her balance in midair and landed, her sword raised Infront of her.
Scourge, a dark and enigmatic figure, materialized before Sasha, his presence a chilling omen. His eyes, cold and calculating, bore into her, and a sinister smile crept across his lips.
"Found one?No matter, I'll find the others later." he drawled.
" Who are you." Sasha demanded, locking in to her opponent, her body trembling slightly.
" Call me, Scourge." He said taking a step towards her.
Goblins approached from behind.
"Tch." Scourge waved his hand, unleashing a shockwave that shredded buildings and tore the goblins apart.Sasha realized Scourge's strength.
" There, now no one will disturb us" he said turning back to Sasha who was now visibly trembling.
Scourge noticed Sasha trembling. "Want to run? I can give you a head start. Hunting's more fun."
Before he finished, appeared Infront of him and before he could react, sent him flying back with a vertical slash. She appeared above him and reversed her motion, her slash hitting him from the opposite direction.
Sharone could feel Sasha's emotions through their telepathic link as did the others. Sasha was a succubus but in a different sense if the word. Her inherent nature got excited anytime she was facing a strong opponent.Sasha blushed, eager for the fight
"What the hell is going on over there?" She wondered.
Eduar arrived with a force of sharplings. "I'll handle guard duty. You—"
Sasha disappeared before he could finish, the speed of her movent creating a powerful gust of wind that knocked his forces back.
Scourge rose from the rubble, touching a gash running from his left eyebrow to the right side of his neck. With a swift motion, Scourge lunged forward, his fist a blur.
He landed a powerful punch, sending Sasha flying.
She teleported behind him, vertical slash aimed at Scourge's neck.
He blocked, countering with a vicious backhand.
Sasha dodged, retaliating with a diagonal slash following up with a flurry of strikes, each one more devastating than the last. Scourge was surprised. Though he managed to block these strikes, they were able to hack his tough skin. He had to reinforce his body with Arcana to prevent her from cleaving through his arms.
Sasha unleashed a powerful spatial slash, a burst of energy that tore through the air, aimed at Scourge's heart. But Scourge anticipated the move, and with a flick of his wrist, he redirected the attack, sending it careening into a nearby building. The structure exploded, a shower of debris raining down upon the battlefield.
Scourge smiled as he increased his energy output, taking the fight more seriously. The city paid the price for their battle. Buildings crumbled, streets were torn apart, but Sasha and Scourge cared little for the destruction. They were locked in a deadly dance, each seeking to claim victory.
