Chapter 123 - THE STARS

Within the ruined castle, darkness reigned. Shadows danced across crumbling walls as Maajin and Dark Apostles scurried about, attending to their duties. The air reeked of decay and malevolent energy.

‎In the throne room, Minatori sat, his piercing gaze lost in thought. The open space, devoid of a roof, allowed him to peer at the sky although due to the storm all he could see were flashes of lightning in the cloudy sky. He waved his hand Infront of him, clearing the clouds that were above the Ruins. The light from the starry sky that showed clusters of stars was truly a sight to behold , turning the cesspool evil intent into a place of ethereal beauty.

Minatori looked content as he observed the sky. One would guess ,based on his appearance that he wasnt the kind of person to like beauty but before all this he was a king and kings needed to be associated with beautiful things to pu accross their kingship. Although he had altered the whether so he could see the stars,he maintained the storm around his base.

Two pools, their surfaces reflecting the teal flames of lamp stands on either side of the as well as the night sky appeared to glow. They flanked the walkway leading to the throne.

This atmosphere ou his mind at ease while he lost himself I thought.

‎"The Celestials," Minatori muttered, his voice low . " The four celestial races Dragonkin, Seraphs,Deamons and Fay. Beings of unparalleled power, far surpassing the mortal races. Among them, the most powerful ,the First Order embody the very concepts of life and death"

‎His damaged eye, scarred from encounters with Dona Crymson, twitched. "I rose above all these beings to become a demon lord. A lot truly fitting of the being who went from being a mortal to an Abstract Principle, a Pillar embodying Evolution. And yet still I can't beat her. Yet still I am inferior to that Bitch Dona Crymson."

Minatori's aura expanded, filling the throne room. His power, a palpable force, pressed against the castle walls.

" The other Lords of Order and Chaos are aware of the shift. They have by now realized that Dona has awakened and I have been freed. "

As he pondered, the castle's dark energy responded to Minatori's emotions. Shadows deepened, and the air grew thick with malevolent intent.

" Those bastards. They always in the way of my glory. The world everything that exists, everything was made for me to rule so why why do I have to be held down by long lived corpses who have no ambition!"

Lightning began flashing violently as the sky darkened ,striking the castle all over and casuine damage, killing some of the Maajin and Apostles.

The sky cleared and the lightning stopped. Minatori looked down from his throne, his senses spreading through the castle. He watched as the people rushed to our out fires and repair damage while discarding any bodies lying around.

With a fluid motion, Minatori sat upright, crossing one leg over the other. He leaned his head against his fist, his gaze lost in the night sky.

Minatori's gaze narrowed. "To rise above all things, I must control the Nexus World. That way the other gods will be unable to interfere with me,while I rule all. The Gates of Sefirot must be opened. But the seal in the The Holy Land of Ezkanur....."

His eyes gleamed with calculation.A sly grin spread across Minatori's face.

" I have the perfect pawn." He said looking up at the sky as a shooting star streaking accross.

In the pools, ripples formed, as if something beneath the surface stirred. The lamp stands' flames danced higher, casting an otherworldly glow.

In the darkness, a presence watched, unseen and unheard. The balance of power shifted, and the observer's interest grew.

‎Dona Crymson, sensing the disturbance, stirred from her slumber she however decided to ignore and returned to he slumber

The next day, Koniko walked into the Silver Palace with the other girls . They were conversing among themselves. Kojo had gone over to see the council with Lloyd make plans concerning the discovery in the mines. He'd told them that he'd be back by noon. As usual,Eden and Rey went off to train. This Dona went with them in order to see what kind of training The mortals did to get stronger. Koniko smiled slightly at the look on Rey's face when Dona said she was tagging along. He looked like the world was coming to an end and had to be dragged of by Saleem who said she was going to spar with him. They had included her in their own training a couple of times in Thier isolated space and... Rey had their prayers.

The aroma of cooking food wafting through the air. She spotted Felix behind the counter, expertly juggling multiple dishes. Her eyes narrowed, sensing something off.

As she approached, she noticed several patrons already seated, enjoying their meals. Koniko slipped behind the counter, her gaze scanning Felix's frame. Her eyes widened.

‎Felix's arms were wrapped in bandages, and she could see some sticking out of a high collared shirt he wore to conceal the extent of his injuries. He looked up, catching her gaze, and forced a weak smile.

‎"Miss Koniko. Good Morning."

Koniko's expression turned stern. "Whats with all those bandages? Are you an embalmed body now?"

Felix looked down at himself.

Felix shrugged, wincing slightly. "Just some wounds from those robbers. I noticed them when I was taking a bath yesterday. It's nothing serious."

Koniko saw his pupils dilate and his ears twitch. She also heard his heartbeat speed up slightly.

He was lying.

Koniko's eyes flicked to his bandages, her gaze focusing on the heat emanating from his muscles. She saw the outline of his wounds , and her concern deepened. However, she chose not to press the issue.

‎"Be careful next time," she said, turning to leave.

Felix's voice stopped her. "Hey,um, Miss Koniko?"

She stopped waking and looked over her shoulder at him.

‎"Are you...from Granoa?" Felix asked, his curiosity evident.

Koniko's face darkened and she turned away to face ahead.

The air grew thick with awkward silence. Koniko's face remained impassive.

Felix's face flushed. "I apologize, I didn't mean to pry."

Koniko's response was a curt grunt. She walked away, leaving Felix feeling embarrassed.

A burly man came up to him as if to make an order. Felix immediately recognized him as one of Marconni's men and his demeanor changed.

"You know what would happen to you if you screw up again. Stay focused." He said paying for the meal and walking out of the shop.

Felix pushed the thoughts aside, focusing on his tasks. However, his gaze drifted toward the table where Koniko and the others sat , wondering what secrets Koniko hid. A man sat in the corner of the shop. He looked on as the burly man spoke to Felix. He got up from the seat a smile on his face as he twirling a card between his fingers.
