Hiding his face in his palms, he let out an exhausted sigh," There's no way I just let that mafia scum do what he pleased. Have I gone soft? No... its not like that am just tricking him... yes that's it, am tricking him into thinking am a weakling so that he'll lower his guard. Yes... that's exactly what is going on here."
Feeling a bit relieved, he lay back down and stared at the ceiling thoughts wandering. A knock sounded from the door and Lian immediately sat up once it creaked open.
"Come with me," the guard said and Lian was taken a back by how polite he sounded.
Ever since he arrived, all of the guards who spoke to him were either rude or arrogant so when a guard talked to him in a polite way almost like a junior talking to a senior made him a bit uncomfortable.
"Um... if you don't mind my asking, are you new here?"
"Pardon?"
"Don't get me wrong but ever since I came here, no one has ever talked to me so politely so I guessed you were new."
The guard looked at him for a few seconds uneasiness setting in in his features.
"You okay?" Lian asked after noticing the strange tension radiating from him.
"Sun."
"Excuse me?"
"My name is Sun."
"Huh? Oh... am Lian," he replied and stretched out his open hand," pleased to meet you."
Sun nodded and gave his hand a firm shake," Likewise Lian."
Lian smiled warmly at the thought of finally meeting someone who might help him get some useful information which he would deem useful in the termination of the organisation.
"So Sun, I presume you didn't come here just to exchange pleasantries right?"
"Oh yeah... right..."
Lian watched as he fidgeted with his hands uncomfortably.
"What's wrong?" he asked bluntly.
"You should come with me," Sun said eyes lowered to the ground.
Lian chuckled lightly at his behaviour.
"Are you always like this?"
"Like what?" Sun asked finally managing to lift his gaze from the ground to Lian's eyes.
"Oh... you have beautiful eyes," he blurted out and Sun's cheeks grew light pink.
"What are you saying Mr. Lian? Am a guy."
"So what, is it wrong if I appreciate a man's beauty?"
"Well... no but still..."
Sun had mesmerising almond colored eyes emitting a similar vibe to Tsun's but for him, they were soft. Lian looked at him studying his eyes. He couldn't help but feel awfully familiar with him.
"Where are we going?" Lian asked shaking away the thoughts in his mind.
"Right... the prisons."
"Okay."
Lian stood from the bed and walked towards the door but Sun stood in front of him stopping him in his tracks. Lian looked at him with a raised brow and Sun swallowed nervously.
"Can you... raise your hands?"
"Raise my hands? Whatever for?"
"Well, the thing is, I was instructed to cuff you."
"Aren't you just adorably cute. What type of mafia guard asks the prisoner to raise their hands so that they can cuff them so nicely?" Lian asked raising his hands as instructed.
Sun slowly slipped the cuffs around Lian's wrists and withdrew once he winced at the cold feel.
"Am sorry. Did I hurt you?"
"No you didn't, it was suddenly cold and it gave me a surprise is all."
Sun let out a sigh and moved to adjust the cuffs on his wrists making them more comfortable.
"There we go, isn't that better?"
Lian shook his head and smiled," Much better. Thanks. If I may ask why do you seem nonchalant towards been hard on the prisoners?"
"I don't exactly fancy the thought of roughly showing dominance over others."
"You don't? Then how did you manage to get your position?"
"Well..."
The door burst open and two more guards barged into the room.
"What took you so long to get the prisoner?"
Sun nervously shuffled his feet and Lian noticed this.
"What? Am I now not allowed to relieve myself when I want? I asked him to wait a while as I went into the bathroom," Lian said and Sun's shoulders slumped in relief," let's get going then."
He walked out ahead of them and the guards watched after him shocked. They looked at each other, shrugged and rushed after him as he made his way down the silent hall.
"So, where's the big boss?"
"He had some business to attend to, " one guard said and Lian nodded his head.
"So... can we drop by the kitchen for some food? Am starving."
"Sadly, we aren't allowed to just walk into the kitchen and ask for food so..."
"You'll leave me starving huh."
"Not really," Sun said and they all turned to him," am sure we can request for some food from the kitchen."
"Am not sure that's a great ide..."
"You guys can stand guard outside while I have him eat."
"But..."
"It'll be fine, we won't be long just a few minutes."
"Wonderful. Lead the way Sun," Lian said cutting off the two who seemed to have a mouthful of things to say.
Sun nodded his head and walked ahead of the three. They walked for a few minutes before coming upon the kitchen. Sun and Lian both walked into the kitchen leaving the two guards outside to stand guard.
"Hello madam," Sun said his head bowed.
"Oh Sun, hello. What are you doing here? Did anyone bully you?"
"What! No! Who can bully me now, am a grown up," he replied a pout on his lips.
The lady pinched his cheek lightly," You say that but it's not been long since you came running to me about how you've been bullied."
Sun rubbed the back of his neck nervously," Please don't bring that up, it's embarrassing."
Lian covered his mouth and chuckled silently and the lady turned her attention to him.
"Oh, friend of yours dear?"
"Yes. Would you please spare him a bite? He hasn't had anything to eat for a while."
The lady walked towards Lian and lift his chin up revealing the marks on his neck and his visible bones.
"My, how did you get these wounds, I think they should be tended to."
Lian nodded and sat on a stool obediently. The lady carefully did the wound and he thanked her. She proceeded and served him a plate of food and passed it to him. Sun nodded and took the plate from the table and turned to Lian.
"Allow me," he said and scooped a spoonful of food," aah."
Lian closed his eyes, swallowed his pride and opened his mouth as Sun fed him.
"That was delicious thank you," Lian said and walked towards the door.
"Take care dears," the lady called after them as the door shut.
"You two sure took your sweet time," one guard said anger creasing his brows.
"Let's get going before boss finds out we didn't follow orders."
