"Oh... and if you're wise, you would do what is stated on those papers otherwise, I won't be accountable for what will happen to the two of you," he said his eyes landing on Rin," especially that little girl."
With those last words he walked out of the door and closed it behind him.
"Get them ready."
"Sir?"
"Make sure the wounds on their bodies are tended to, get them some clothes and send them to the hotel."
"Yes sir."
After doing as instructed, Rin and her mother were shown to the place they were to work and just by the type of people exiting the place, Rin couldn't help but shiver. She shook her head dismissing the idea that kept popping in her mind. She rubbed the back of her neck and together with her mother, they walked into the building.
"This way."
They were led to the counter and welcomed by a middle aged woman with a friendly smile.
"My, hello ladies," she said and Rin hid behind her mother tightly grabbing onto her clothes.
"Dear where are your manners?" she asked before turning to the lady," hello. Sorry about my daughter's behaviour."
"No worries, what is a young kid like that doing here?" she asked directing the question to the man.
"Boss wanted them to work in order to pay of their debt."
"Even the child? I can understand the mother but a child? Are you out of your mind sending a kid to a place like this? He doesn't even look fifteen years old."
The guy shrugged his shoulders at this and the lady crossed her hands over her chest.
"You guys are unbelievable. Okay then, leave them to me I believe you have important things to tend to."
The guy nodded his head and disappeared out of the door and the lady turned to Rin and her mother.
"I forgot to introduce myself, my name is Baby," she said and both Rin and her mother looked at each other before turning to her.
"Baby? Uh... what a... unique name. I love it," Rin's mum said and Baby smiled and threw her arms around her shoulders.
"So, I should probably inform you of what happens here," she said.
After quick introductions to the co workers and other parties involved, it was later decided that because of her beauty, Rin's mother was to serve the customers as a waitress and Rin was allocated the work of a mascot since she was not knowledgeable on the financial management sector that was first chosen for her.
"Okay so now that you know what you're supposed to do, get going."
Rin and her mother were guided to the changing room and each given clothes to wear.
"How was the search party? Did you find that man?" Zixin asked taking a puff from his cigar.
"There's still no sign of him sir."
"Is it that hard for you to track down that guy?" he asked and the men bowed their heads," you may leave."
"Sir!"
The men walked out of the room and Zixin tapped the cigar on the ash tray before putting it back in his mouth and taking a deep puff.
"I thought you said you'd stop smoking."
Zixin looked up his eyes landing on Kyle who was by the door.
"When did you get there?"
"Not too long ago," he said and sat opposite him," I passed by the hotel and noticed you got new employees."
Zixin put out his cigar and turned to his brother," Really?"
"The one who borrowed money ran away?"
"Ha... you figured it out?"
"Have you forgotten that we grew up together? Your behaviours haven't changed in the slightest, you attack the women and the kids of those who borrow money from you though they have nothing to do with the money."
"That bastard borrowed money and ran away. Did you expect me to be a Samaritan and overlook it? It's always the same with those bastards who borrow money, gamble and loose everything."
"That woman sure is beautiful," Kyle said and Zixin looked at him.
"Don't even think about it, you've got yourself a girlfriend," he said immediately sensing Kyle's interest on his new worker and Kyle laughed.
Before he could speak, the door burst open and Tsun rushed in pulling Ding with him.
"What's the rush kids?"
"Uncle Kyle!"
Kyle stood up with his arms open and the two immediately pounced on him.
"Hey! Carefu-"
The force pushed Kyle back and as Zixin tried to grab onto him, they all fell to the ground with a loud thud.
"Where have you been uncle?" Tsun asked a pout on his lips and Kyle shuffled his hair.
"Busy. What about you? How's school?"
"School is okay," he replied a cheeky smile on his lips and Kyle shook his head.
"Get off!" Zixin shouted and they all stood up.
"Father, are you okay?"
Zixin stood up and dusted his suit before turning to the three males before him.
"Sorry father, are you hurt?"
"No I'm perfectly fine. Besides, its not like I had three people on top of me or anything right?"
"There he goes," Kyle said and placed his hands on Ding's and Tsun's shoulders before leaning to their height," let's go. Uncle has to go and check out how business is fairing on at the hotel."
"Hey! Room no 305 requires a clean up! Room no 400 needs some extra sheets! Room no..."
The orders kept piling up and soon everyone was busy apart from Rin. She sat on a small wall outside the hotel eating some ice cream she got from one of the customers and gazing at the night sky.
"This flavour is too sweet," she mumbled to herself and ate a spoonful of the strawberry top.
A black car drove into sight and she walked up to the car to welcome the guests as per her routine.
"Hello, welcome to the hotel," she said her head bowed.
"A child?"
"What is she doing here?"
Rin looked up and saw two boys and an adult. One of the kids was younger than her and the other older.
"Hey kid. What are you doing here?"
"Working. My mum and I recently got hired here," she replied the exact sentences she had been forced to memorise.
"And what do you do?"
"Nothing much just welcome the guests."
"What a good girl," he said and pat her head.
"Uncle?"
"Yeah yeah, you can go play. I'll just head on in," he replied and disappeared into the hotel leaving the three alone.
Tsun cleared his throat and stretched his hand out to Rin," My name is Tsun, this is my brother Ding. What's your name?"
"My name is Rin," she replied and shook his hand.
"Hmm... do you want to come play with us in the playground?"
"Play? It's dark," Rin stated pointing to the sky.
"Are you afraid?" Ding asked before adding," I'll protect you."
"Who said anything about fear?" she asked incredulously.
